SCOPE This specification defines the performance of marking inks for the identification
、 of plastic, rubber and metal parts or the various gasket materials during production. The identification can either be a color spot or a printing. 2. APPLICATION Material according to WSS-M99P12-B1 is for temporary application only. Material according to WSS-M99P12-B2 is for temporary application a
、nd has good resistance to engine oil, petrol and heat. Material according to WSS-M99P12-B3 provides excellent resistance to engine oil, ATF and heat and can be used for applications in the interior of engines and transmissions. The ink must not be removed prior to assembly (see also para 3.11). 3. R
、EQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS IR spectra and
、 thermograms established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. ENGINEERING MAT
