3、ine and diesel passengercars.1.4 Definitions.Static Unusable Capacity: Volume of remainingfuel in tank after the fuel pump has drained all thatit is able to drain. Fuel system is in design (curbmass) position for level ground and not moving (seeGME8712).Specified Fuel Capacity: The amount of fuel th

7、 relevant testaccording to paragraph 4.3.4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the require-ments of the test procedures shall have been agreedupon. Such requirements shall be specified on com-ponent drawings, test certificates, reports etc.4.3 Instructions.4.3.1 General Evaluation.4.3.1.1 For Tank

8、Capacity Evaluation the test shallbe performed at “6 oclock nozzle position” with flowrates defined in SSTS and temperatures defined inparagraph 3.3.4. Vehicle on a flat surface and underinclination of 6 % (left-, right-, front-, rear up).4.3.1.2 Customer Usable Fuel System Capacity isreached after

The fuel shall

11、be kept 30 s atthis level by filling very slowly.a Drain the tank.b Insert nozzle (handle down) as far as possible.c Engage filler nozzle on fast fill rate. Wait for auto-matic shutoff.d Wait 10 s, engage nozzle on fast fill rate. Fuelnozzle still inserted as far as possible. Wait untilautomatic shu

12、toff occurs.e Wait 5 s, pull out nozzle one step. Engage nozzleon slow fill rate and wait for automatic shutoff.f Wait 5 s. Engage nozzle on slow fill rate and waitfor automatic shut off. Repeat step f three moretimes.g Repeat a to f lift up and hold the nozzle into thehand.4.3.2 First Fill. Step c

13、according to paragraph 4.3.1shall be performed with a tank that has never been incontact with fuel before.Note: For diesel vehicles the Test Procedure shallbe brought in line with the procedure at the end ofproduction line.4.3.3 Failed Shutoff Nozzle.a Drain tank until Static Unusable Capacity remai
