SCOPE This standard specifies ferritic ductile Iron castings for steering knuckle used by GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology Company(hereinafter referred to as the “GMDAT“). 2. MANUFACTURING METHOD 2.1. The iron castings shall be ma

3、nufactured by melting in a cupola, electric furnace and other suitable furnace and carrying out treatment to spheroidize graphite in ladle. 2.2. The iron castings may be subjected to annealing and other heat treatment to improve elongation and impact value. 3. TYPE AND USE Table 1. Type and Use Type

Microstructure Microstructures of iron ca

8、stings shall be evaluated according to EDS-T-7101 Method of Microscopic Test for the Microstructures in cast Iron by the structure rating chart. 4.3.1. Graphite spheroidizing rate : 90% min. Chart figure 1 4.3.2. Graphite size : chart figure 6 8 4.3.3. Base structure : Base structure shall be free f

9、rom chill structure and shall be made up of 90% min of Ferrite. Chart IX figure 6. 4.4. Appearance 4.4.1. Dimensions of castings shall satisfy the specification in the drawing. 4.4.2. The surface of castings shall be free from molding and core sand and such defects as crack, intrusion of casting san

10、d and slag, blowhole, shrinkage hole that may cause harm during, machining and use. 4.5. Process control of manufacturer 4.5.1. Chemical composition Chemical composition analysis of pouring for every distribution shall be performed to guarantee the quality of casting process and its record shall be

11、kept. When required by the purchaser, record shall be submitted. 4.5.2. Hardness : 100% test in blanks before machining 4.5.3. Graphite spheroidizing rate : 100% test by ultrasonic inspection device. 4.5.4. Internal defects(Macro porosity Slag etc) : 100% X-ray test or X-ray and ultrasonic inspectio

12、n test. 4.5.5. Surface crack : Random test by statistic process control. 4.5.6. Visual check : 100% inspection 5. NOTE Samples of materials or parts that follow this standard shall be approved by Technical Center before mass production & delivery. In the event of any modification form this standard,

13、 it is the sole responsibility of the supplier to inform the purchaser of all such modifications. Furthermore, the supplier shall submit the modified sample for reapproval by Technical Center before mass production & delivery. 6. TEST 6.1. The specimen shall generally be cast separately under the same conditions as the iron castings by using the mould of the same type with

15、the iron castings. Sampling cycle and numbers of test specimen shall be as agreed between the delivery parties concerned. Specimen shall be heat-treated along with the products in the same furnace and time with those of products. 6.2.2. Shape and dimension of test specimen Shape and dimensions of sp

16、ecimens shall be of 6 types made up of four Y types(No. A D indicated in Table 5 and Fig. 1) and 6 knock off types shown in Fig. 2(type Ka or Kb). In principle, No. B of type Y shall be used, but knock off type(type Ka or Kb) may be substituted for No. B. When there are remarkable differences in the
