PURPOSE This specification defines general requirements for raw materials of PMI-ABS:Phenylmaleimide Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene applied to interior and exterior parts of a vehicle. 2. SCOPE This specifica
3、tion shall be applied to raw materials of PMI-ABS:Phenylmaleimide Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene used in all passenger cars by GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology Company(hereinafter referred to as the “GMDAT“). 3. DEFINITION OF TERMS 3.1. PMI-ABS types: As Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene of Phenylmaleimid
4、e group, this ABS has been improved in aspect of heat resistance by adding and replacing of Phenylmaleimide in previous -Methyl Styrene. 4. MATERIAL INDICATION Material indication: ABS Detailed contents shall conform to the indication method of synthetic resin materials for vehicles.(Spec. No: GMW31
5、16) 5. APPLICATION 5.1. Group 1: Ultrahigh heat resistance raw materials which have heat deflection temperature of 120 or higher. 5.1.1. Type 1: Raw materials which the heat resistance has especially been improved by adding of PMI heat-resistance material Ex) Door Garnish, Speaker Grille 5.1.2. Type
6、 2: Raw materials which the heat resistance has especially been improved by adding of PMI heat-resistance material & the toughness and mechanical properties have especially been improved by blending a small quantity of Polycarbonate. Ex) Back Panel-Deposit Box 5.2. Group 2: Super heat and impact res
7、istance raw materials which have heat deflection temperature of 110 or higher. 5.2.1. Type 1: Raw materials which the heat and impact resistance have been improved by adding of PMI heat-resistance material Ex) Defroster Grille 5.2.2. Type 2: Raw materials which the heat resistance has been improved
8、by adding of PMI heat-resistance material and the impact-resistance properties has been improved by blending a small quantity of Polycarbonate. Type 1: Raw materials which the heat resistance has been improved by adding of PMI heat-resistance material and the impact-resis
10、tance properties has been improved by using base material with High-rubber ABS. Ex) I/P Center Molding 5.3.2. Type 2: Raw materials which the heat resistance has been improved by adding of PMI heat-resistance material and the impact-resistance and mechanical properties have been improved by adjustin
11、g of Polycarbonate content. Ex) I/P Center Molding, I/P LWR type Notice to Use Parts which were molded using this specification material can be damaged as contacted by foam, rubber, seal, PVC products with plasticizer such as DOP, DOA, etc., because contacted parts can be chemically cracked by plast
12、icizers migration. So the use of product must be avoided in case of contact. But, if the contact is necessary, surface treatment methods such as painting with clear coat, coated gold, etc must be used to prevent chemical crack by plasticizers migration. # Phthalic Acid Ester plasticizer: DOP(Di-Octy
