The purpose of this standard is to establish the material properties of sealing compounds used for sealing the specific areas of vehicle-body and to manage their qualities. 1.2 Material Description. Solvent-free, thermosetting

3、 sealing compound on PVC base. 1.3 Typical Applications. This standard is applied to the sealing compounds used for the double-flanged seams in vehicle-body. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. 5、 with EPPRECHT-RHEMOMETER STV or EPPRECHT RHEOMAT 15. 3.1.2 Amount of Monomer. The amount of vinyl chloride shall be 13 PPM (mg/L PVC) or less. 3.2 Product Properties. 3.2.1 Supply. 12、3.4.1 No drop in adhesiveness, embrittlement, or cracks after 80 E 120 hours of aging test. 3.3.4.2 Testing under a room temperature. 3.3.5 Cold Resistance. 3.3.5.1 After leaving the sealing paste at (-30) E for 16 hours, the sealing paste shall be bent around the bar of 70 mm in its diameter. 3.3.5

13、.2 No peel-off or cleavage. 3.3.5.3 Testing under approximately 5 seconds (bending time) at (-30) E . 3.3.6 Heat Resistance. After the heat resistance test of 170 E 60 minutes : 180 E 20 minutes, sealing paste shall have no blowholes, cracks nor drop in adhesiveness. 3.3.7 Water Resistance. After th

14、e heat resistance test of 170 E 30 minutes : 150 E 10 minutes, the sealing compound may not show any absorption of water or change of weight during 150 hours at 23 E . 4 Manufacturing Process Not applicable. 5 Rules and Regulations 5.1 Legal Regulations. All materials must satisfy applicable laws, r

15、ules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict between the Korean and English language, the Korean language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or materials released to a GM material specification sha

16、ll be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the responsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing process, location of manufactur

17、e, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include documentation of all modifications of materials and/or proc

18、esses and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engineering department and

No shipments shall be made by any supplier until representative initial production samples

22、 have been approved by the appropriate Materials Engineering department(s) as meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.5 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a co

23、mplete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in com

24、pliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.6 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 5.7 Dont dump in a ditch, dra

Only sources listed in the GM Materials File under this standard number have been qualified by Engineering as meeting the requirements of this standard. For other GM locations, the resp
