T255 Program). It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW14284 1. PURPOSE This standard aims at s

3、pecifying the procedures and specifications for evaluating oil canning and dent resistance of the hood outer panel Note 1). Note 1)OIL CANNING : Momentary drop of loads due to reversed surface curvature of the panel 2. SCOPE This standard applies to hood outer panels of passenger cars and multi-purp

4、ose vehicles. Particulars not specified here shall follow the direction in drawings. 3. SAMPLE 3.1. In the event of any intentional deviation from the requirements of this standard or engineering change, the supplier shall inform GMDAT of them. 3.2. Samples shall be composed of components and parts

5、meeting material and dimensional requirements in drawings. Following consultation with the design engineer, however, they may be composed of parts for developmental use 3.3. Samples shall be the hood A in white furnished with parts constituting the hood specified in drawings. 3.4. Samples shall be c

6、oated with primer or to the higher stage . 3.5. Samples shall show no sign of flaws, deformation or scratch on the surface and be free from loads that may affect test. 4. TEST EQUIPMENT 4.1. 8、OCEDURES 5.1. Fix the hood to the hood hinge and latching point fixture jig. 5.2. Conduct leveling of the hood .The hood shall not subject to any horizontal tensile load. 5.3. Selection of measuring points 5.3.1. Select 9 points around the hood front edge center at an interval of 50mm. See “Attachme

9、nt # 1”. 5.3.2. Select 1 or 2 additional points on the weakest portions of the hood outer panel other than those in 5.3.1 and record the position of each measuring point in “Attachment # 1”. 5.4. Calibrate the displacement transducer, load cell and X-Y recorder. 5.5. Mount the loading jig to the pan

10、el loading device and install it perpendicular to the hood outer panel. 5.6. Install the displacement transducer perpendicular to the hood outer panel through the center hole of the loading jig. Installation shall be such that the displacement transducer will not get disturbed by forward and backwar

11、d movement of the loading jig. 5.7. Apply loads of 50N, 200N, (*300N, *350N) and 400N step by step. For each load, measure the elastic + plastic deformation (E + P) and plastic deformation (P) and record them on “Attachment #1”. At the same time measure the displacement and load to plot them into gr

12、aph. 5.8. 13、chment #1. 5.9. Using the displacement-load curve obtained in “5.7”, read the oil canning of the side panel and record it on “Attachment #1”. 5.10. For all measuring points, repeat “5.5” to “5.9”. 6. EVALUATION 6.1. Reference target of hood outer panel stiffness. 6.1.1. Stiffness under small load (5

14、0N Max.): 0.050 mm/N max. 6.1.2. Deflection when 200N of load is applied: E+P(Elastic deflection + Plastic deflection) shall be 8mm max. 6.1.3. There shall be no oil canning until 150N of load is applied. 6.1.4. *There shall be no dent until the approval of 350N load Remarks) - In case of mass-produ

15、ced vehicles before the revision date of this standard, there shall be no dent until the approval of 200N load - *In case of vehicles with 900mm or more of the hood height (measured location on the CVW condition), there shall be no dent until the approval of 300N load in consideration of accessibility.
