It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW14189. 1. PURPOSE This standard aims at enhancing the efficiency and rel
3、iability of tests by specifying the procedures of performance and durability tests of sun visors. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to sun visors (hereinafter test piece) of passenger vehicles. Applicable test pieces shall be tested in accordance with this standard, test results submitted for approval
4、and submitted to the QA Department prior to supplying parts for manufacture. Unspecified items shall be determined in consultation with related departments and questions on this standard shall be referred to the Testing Department. 3. PREPARATION OF TEST PIECE 3.1. In case a test piece is different
5、from already approved test piece or a design modification that entails departure from this standard, the supplier shall inform all changes to the consumer. 3.2. The supplier shall review measurement data and submit it to the consumer and inform any differences. 3.3. Unless otherwise specified in dra
6、wings for test pieces, test shall be performed at 205, 6520%. 4. TEST METHOD AND REQUIREMENT 4.1. Bowing under load test 4.1.1. Test method (1) Place the sun visor as shown in Fig. 1. Figure 1. Bowing under Load Test (2) Apply a test load F vertically over the whole width of the test piece and measu
7、re the “strain path“. (3) After applying a load of 100N, get the plastic strain “S“ as shown in Fig. 2. The test piece shall not be broken. Load-Deformation Diagram (4) After permanence deformation test, measuring a maximum bending test load at 50mm/sec on test sample. 4.1.2. Requirement (1) Permanent deformation after 100N load approval shall be within
9、1mm without any breakage of test piece. (2) Maximum bending load shall be at least 200N. 4.2. Distortion test 4.2.1. Test method (1) Clamp the test piece as shown in Fig. 3. Here, mount whole width of test piece in the direction of width. Figure 3. Distortion Test (2) With one end of the test piece
10、fixed, measure the torsion rate and torque as shown in Fig. 4 by applying a torque up to a torsion angle of 45. 11、iagram 4.2.2. Requirement (1) Torsion rate at 45distortion angle shall be at least 0.17Nm/1. (2) Distortion torque shall be at least 7.8Nm or greater without any breakage of test piece. 4.3. Swinging moment test 4.3.1. Test method (1) Clamp the supporting portion of the test piece as shown in Fig. 5

Swinging Moment Test (2) While turning the test piece around the axis at the constant speed, measure the swinging moment as shown in Fig. 6.(Alternative: Clamp the test piece and turn the support to measure the moment.) 4.3.2. Requirement Moment for lateral rotation shall be within 0.5Nm
13、 2.0Nm. 4.4. Folding moment test 4.4.1. Folding Moment Test (2) While rotating the test piece from the front windshield to the initial position, measure the folding moment over a range of angle of 180. 4.4.2. Requirement Moment during vertical folding shall be within the range of 0.5Nm 2.0Nm and the te
15、st piece shall not self release from the holder during vertical rotation. 4.5. Holder unlocking and locking force test 4.5.1. Test method (1) As in Fig. 7 fix the test piece support onto the jig fixture and insert the contact pieces to the holder. (2) Measure the load on the outer end area of contac
16、t piece as a sun visor is unlocked/locked to the holder at right angle to the holder entrance. (See Fig. 7) (3) Measure the unlocking force/ locking force of the test piece as its contact piece is unlocked/locked from the holder at room temperature of +205. (4) Keep the test piece at temperature of
17、+702.5 for 241 hours, then measure the locking force/unlocking force. (5) Keep the test piece at temperature of -203 for 241 hours, then measure the locking force/unlocking force. 19、ning/closing force 4.6.1. Test method (1) Tests shall be conducted on sun visors that are already installed on a vehicle. (2) Fix the sun visor to allow the mirror cover to be opened and closed as in actual vehicles. (3) Use a Push-Pull Gauge to measure the force applied. 4.6.2. Requirement Opening/
20、closing force shall be within the range of 0.7N3N and the test piece shall not have self dropping. 4.7. Durability test 4.7.1. Swing and folding durability test (1) Test method 1) Measure the swing moment and the folding moment of test piece prior to the durability test. 2) Conduct 5,000 cycles of f
21、olding motion and 1,000 cycles of swing motion at the speed of 4 cycles per minute within the normal operating range of the test piece. 3) Measure the swing moment and the folding moment of the test piece upon completion of the testing. (2) Requirement The test requirements of 4.3.2 and 4.4.2 shall
22、be satisfied upon completion of testing. Mirror cover durability test (1) Test method 1) Measure the open-close force of mirror cover prior to the durability test. 2) For a test piece with illumination, supply power to the mirror using
24、 power supply device. 3) Conduct 3,000 open/close cycles at the speed of 4 times per minutes within the normal operating range of the test piece. 4) Measure the mirror cover open-close force upon completion of this testing. Check for any illumination abnormality at every 1,000 cycles. (2) Requiremen
25、t 1) The test requirements of 4.6.2 shall be satisfied upon completion of testing. There shall not be any wear that affects its physical appearance and function, deformation, damage or breakage. 2) For a test piece with illumination, check proper illumination after the durability test. 4.8. HIGH AND
26、 LOW TEMP. RESISTANCE TEST 4.8.1. Test method (1) Measure swing moment, folding moment and the mirror cover open-close force (for test piece with mirror only) prior to this test. (2) Keep test pieces that have completed test of 4.7.1 or 4.7.2 at the temperature of +902.5 and then at -303 for at leas
27、t 24 hours respectively. (3) At each temperature, conduct 50 cycles and measure the swing moment, folding moment and the mirror open-close force at room temperature. 4.8.2. Requirement The test requirements of 4.3.2, 4.4.2 and 4.6.2 shall be satisfied upon completion of testing. There shall not be a
28、ny wear that affects its physical appearance and function, deformation, damage or breakage. 4.9. SHAFT STRENGTH TEST 4.9.1. Test method (1) Fix the test piece to the jig in actual vehicle condition. Insert a soft material such as a rubber pad between the jig and the shaft to prevent damage to the sh
29、aft. (2) At the Insert Bracket Springs contact position, apply a vertical load at the speed of 50mm/min as shown in Fig. 8 and measure the breaking load of the test piece.
