3、W14369 & GMW14370. 1. PURPOSE This procedure verifies durability of the folding mechanism during operation of the folding seats. 2. SCOPE All types of sheets with the folding mechanism mounted 3. TEST SAMPLES Minimum three new assemble seat 4. TEST EQUIPMENT AND JIG 4.1. BIW (Body in White) or jig f
4、or fitting seats in vehicle conditions 4.2. Push-pull gauge 4.3. Operation durability tester 5. METHODS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF TEST 5.1. Preparation 5.1.1. Fit the BIW or the seat-fixing jig on the operation durability tester, and then mount a seat on the BIW or the jig. 5.1.2. Set the seat adjuster
5、systems other than the folding mechanism to the position specified in the design standard. 5.2. Test method of operating force 5.2.1. Measure the operating force of the locking device by making use of the pull-push gauge while releasing the locking device. 5.2.2. If there are handles on the seat bac
6、k and the cushion, measure the operating force by making use of the handles while folding the seat. 5.2.3. If there is no handles, measure the operating force at the center of the uppermost position of the seat back and the center of the rearmost position of the cushion while folding the seat. 5.3.

Lift the seat cushion up
8、right to lock it, and then release the locking device of the seat back to fold the seat back as shown in fig. 1 (type 1). 5.3.2. Lock the seat back at the position specified in the design standard, release the locking device of the cushion, and then return the seat back to the original position afte
9、r releasing the locking device. 5.3.3. Repeat the test for 3000 cycle. Each cycle consists of the procedures defined in items 5.3.1 and 5.3.2. 5.4. Test method of durability of the foldable seat type with the seat back only (type 2) 5.4.1. Release the locking device of the seat back to fold the seat
10、 back forward, and then return the seat back to the original position to lock it at the position specified in the design standard as shown in fig. 1 (type 2). 5.4.2. Repeat the test for 3000 cycles. Each cycle consists of the procedure defined in item 5.4.1. 5.5. Test method of durability of the sea
11、t type with the seat back and the cushion integrated (type 3) 5.5.1. Release the locking device of the seat back to fold it forward as shown in fig. 1 (type 3). 5.5.2. Release the locking device of the seat cushion and fold the cushion with the seat back. 5.5.3. Push the entire folded seat backward
12、to lock the seat cushion, and lock the seat back while returning it to the position specified in the design standard. 5.5.4. Repeat the test for 3000 cycles. Each cycle consists of the procedures defined in items 5.5.1 through 5.5.3. Figure 1 5.6. Evaluation 5.6.1. There shall be no abnormal noise after the durability test. 5.6.2. The functions throughout the zones shall be free of abnormal operation after the durability test. 5.6.3. The operating force and the change in the force before and after the test shall satisfy the regulations in the drawings.
