Note: In the event of conflict between the Korean and Eng

3、lish language, the Korean language shall take precedence. 1.1 Purpose. This standard provides a method for gaging primary free lip diameter of radial lip type seals. Diameter tolerance is related to air flow rate between the lip and a mandrel of known size when air is applied at a standard pressure

4、to one side of the seal assembly. 1.2 Applicability. This standard is applied to radial lip type seals used for passenger car. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. 9、lows: y Inside diameter 0.025 to 0.050 mm greater than the maximum specified seal case diameter. 3.1.4 When assembled in retainer ring, the mandrel shall be concentric within 0.013 mm to seal case counter bore of ring. 3.1.5 O-ring or other suitable gaskets to prevent air leakage around the seal cas

10、e outside diameter and around the mandrel pilot. 3.1.6 Schematic for compressed air supply (filtered). 4 Procedures 4.1 Conditions. 4.1.1 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test c

11、ertificates, reports, etc. 4.2 Instructions. 4.2.1 Measurements shall be taken at room temperature. The seal shall be exposed to room temperature within 1 hour before measuring. 4.2.2 Mount seal assembly between minimum-diameter (No. 1) mandrel and retainer ring before the air is applied to the outs

12、ide face of the sea. 4.2.3 Apply air pressure of 3.50.2 kPa. 4.2.4 Read gauging value . 4.2.5 Repeat step 1 through 4 using maximum diameter (No. 2) mandrel. 5 Data 5.1 Evaluation. 5.1.1 Air flow rate with minimum diameter test mandrel shall be equal to or greater than 10 L/min. 5.1.2 Air flow rate
