It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW3172 1. PURPOSE Following test spec. determines the general test conditions
3、for round plug connections. 2. TEST QUANTITY For the sampling, respective 20 round plug connections are to be tested, which should be struck preferably on cables corresponding to the use in the vehicle. The number of test specimen for the quality control is determined by the receipt inspection. 3. D
4、EFINITIONS 3.1. Round plug connection or releasable connection, composed of round plug and round socket. 3.2. Not releasable connection, composed of round plug or round socket with solderless struck wires. 3.3. Traction relief. Cover plate on round socket and round plug, which must be crimped so tha
5、t the insulation of the wire is tightly surrounded. 4. DELIVERY STATE Round plug and round socket are delivered as component piece, in band type or on cable according to order - example to ON 5583. Parts with smooth surface, burrfree, and without cracks, folds or grooves. The striking of round plug

MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS The forces according to 7.1.1 to 7.1.3 are to be measured after 1 - and after 10 - times plug - in connection of round socket on a belonging round plug. The measurement is performed with a
8、round plug, thickness of which corresponds to the nominal dimension and locking groove of which, if available, is changed so that the round socket is to be slided on the plug for the measuring of axial shifting force. 7.1. Releasable connection. The specified values are valid for single plug connect

Loading capacity The electric loading capacity of a round plug connection is dependent on the crimped wire - cross section, on the material, on the surface cover of plug connector, the ambient temperature and the heat of a apparatus - internal heat source conducted over the roun
16、d plug. (e.g. contactor heating or hot spot at switches) The limit values for the current loading of a single plug connection determined in following table may not be exceeded. When inserting the plug and socket in higher ambient temperature or/and in multiple plug housing the current loading capaci
17、ty is reduced with increasing number of electrically loaded plug. Besides, the thermal resistance-limit of plug housing-material has an influence on the current loading capacity. The max. permissible current load of plug connection at raised temperature or/and insertion in the multiple plug housing
18、must be individually investigated or is to be taken from the technical documents of plug maker. 9. CORROSION TEST The corrosion test of joined connection is to be performed with the salt spray test according to EDS-T-7143. The voltage drops may not exceed the values to section 8.1 according to this test.
