3、is standard aims at correctly evaluating car navigation systems manufactured by GMDAT. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to unit components of the car navigation system installed in vehicles used in Korea. 3. DEFINITION OF TERMS 3.1. Car navigation system unit All types of electronic units (hereinafter
4、 called “sample“ or “unit“) which shows to the driver the present location of the vehicle, calculate the optimum course to the desired destination and guide the driver to the destination or provide the driver with various information and services. 3.2. GPS (Global Position System) Satellite navigati
5、on system that is devised to receive signals from the satellite to allow the receiver to locate the desired position 4. TEST CONDITIONS 4.1. Standard test condition Unless specified otherwise, test is conducted under the normal temperature and humidity condition specified in KS A006(Test Place Stand
6、ard Condition). 4.2. No. of samples At least 11 DVP and PVP samples shall be provided for test in principle. 4.3. Standard test signals GPS signals received from the satellite (stored condition) 5. TEST EQUIPMENT 5.1. Generals Measuring instruments used for test shall basically be calibrated by the
7、national calibration institute and within the effective calibration period. 5.2. Thermostatic chamber Capable of maintaining temperature from 40 to +90, it shall have a minimum capacity of 100 liter. Vibration tester It shall be capable of performing test to KS R 1034 (Automobile Components Vibra
9、tion Test method). 5.4. Control device for durability test It shall be capable of automatically supply and cut-off voltage for unit operation, detect defects and record progress time and no. of cycles in durability test. 6. TEST PROCEDURES 6.1. Appearance test 6.1.1. Visual test (1) Conduct visual i
10、nspection. (2) When observed visually, the unit shall show no sign of harmful flaws, cracks, or other defects that may adversely affect the performance. 6.1.2. Dimension test Specified samples based on KS B 5203 (Vernier calipers) shall be used. Samples shall meet material requirements of the deign
11、specifications and dimensional requirements in drawings. 6.2. General performance 6.2.1. Operating voltage To operate at 9V 16V. (Conduct test separately for the accessories power cables and battery power cables.) 6.2.2. Leakage current Unless specified otherwise in drawings, the measured current sh
12、all not exceed 2 . 6.2.3. Initial mapping time When turned off at level 8 and subsequently turned on, map manifestation shall be carried out normally within 8 seconds in the operating voltage range. 6.2.4. Scrolling At scrolling for 10 seconds in a certain direction at each level, it shall move not
13、less than 34cm from the starting point on the display unless specified otherwise on drawings. 6.2.5. Scale conversion At scale conversion of the map from a certain level to a certain level, map manifestation shall be completed within 5 seconds unless specified otherwise on drawings. 6.3. Temperature

Temperature operation test (1) Construct the sample to the design specifications. (2) Test temperature is based on the point

(2) Under test temperature and humidity, supply power to the unit in the no-load condition (battery and ignition.) (3) After elapse of desi
17、gnated test time, dry the sample under normal temperature and normal humidity for 2 hours and then apply standard signals to the sample to check whether performance requirements are met. Performance shall not change from standard temperature performance by more than 20%. 1) Test temperature : +453 2

Supply power to the unit in the no-load condition (battery and ignition). 6.4.2. Expose the sample to +85 in the horizontal condition for 5 minutes. 6.4.3. Expose t
19、he sample to -20 for 2 hours with power cut-off. 6.4.4. Immediately expose the sample to test temperature and humidity for 5 minutes with power cut-off. 6.4.5. When power is applied after the sample is dried under normal temperature and normal humidity for 30 minutes, there shall be no heat generati

This test is conducted to the design specifications. Standard signals are received in the operating condition. 6.5.2. High temperat
21、ure and low temperature are applied alternately. Change temperature in the thermostatic chamber by 10 per minute. 6.5.3. The sample is operated at an alternate cycle of 5 minute ON/ 5 minute OFF. 6.5.4. After test, the initial performance requirements shall be met. Unless specified otherwise, perfor

This test is conducted on the vibration tester in the vehicle condition. During test, supply power to the unit in the no-load condition (battery and ignition). 6.6.2. Vibrati
24、ng is applied to vehicle interior parts at 3.2G(rms) according to Table. 1. Fix the sample to the vibrator in the vehicle condition. 6.6.3. Vibrating time is 2 hours. During vibration, there shall occur no performance drop and rattle noise by component separation or noise by resonance. Unless specif
25、ied otherwise, performance shall not change from the initial state by more than 20%. Free fall test
26、 This test is conducted on a concrete floor. Free-fall an unpacked sample onto the concrete floor from a height of 1 m 3 times respectively for each of corner, right/left and front/back sides. There shall be no harmful defects in the appearance and initial performance requirements shall be met. 6.8.
27、 Overvoltage/ reverse-voltage test 6.8.1. This test is conducted according to ISO 7637 to check if the unit inside circuit is protected from overvoltage and reverse voltage that may occur at battery discharge. 6.8.2. At test, the unit shall be wired in the vehicle condition. For the system furnished
28、 with an inside protection circuit, a fuse (inside protection circuit) shall be inserted before the unit is operated. 6.8.3. When power to the sample is cut off by the action of the inside protection circuit (fuse), immediately replace the fuse with a new one of the same type. (1) Overvoltage A 1) T

Radiated emission This test is conducted with narrow band emission to EDS-T-5511. The measured value shall
31、 not deviate from the specified range. 6.9.2. Conducted transient emission This test is conducted to EDS-T-5010. Measurement is made at a point 150mm away from the unit. When 10 output waveforms are measured, the reference value shall not be exceeded. 6.9.3. Bulk Current Injection/ Tem Cell/ Strip-l
32、ine/ Free Field This test is conducted to EC95-54(ESA) by selecting one of the above 4 items. There shall be no erroneous functions when the applied electric wave is removed (reset). 6.9.4. Application starts from 60Hz/ 80uT down to 30kHz by decrement of 20dB/octave. There shall be no erroneous functions during the process. 6.9.5. Conducted susceptibility This
34、test is conducted to EDS-T-5010. When ISO 7637 Pulses #1 to #7 are applied to the unit power according to ISO 7637-1 Class A, the display condition on the monitor is evaluated. 6.9.6. Sinusoidal Burst This test is conducted to EDS-T-5006 in a frequency range of 500kHz 50MHz. 6.9.7. Electrostatic Dis
35、charge This test is conducted to EDS-T-5005 at 4 15kV. 6.10. Tear Down Analysis While not included in evaluation items, this test shall be conducted whenever troubles are developed during test. 7.
