3、 1. PURPOSE This standard aims at evaluating electromagnetic immunity of vehicles manufactured by GMDAT and determining the corresponding frequency and level in case of a certain deviation. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to all vehicles manufactured by GMDAT. 3. DEFINITION OF TERMS 3.1. Electromagne
4、tic compatibility : EMC Capability of electric/electronic parts or systems to operate to the design performance level under electromagnetic environment 3.2. Amplitude modulation : AM A series of carrying signals of carrier amplitude 3.3. Electromagnetic immunity Capability to operate normally under
5、electromagnetic environment without performance drop 3.4. Forward power Power from the power amplifier output terminal which goes toward the load 3.5. Reflected power Power from power amplifier output terminal which is reflected toward the load as a result of impedance mismatching between the transm
6、ission line and load 3.6. Net power “Forward power-reflected power“ at the same point of the same transmission line 4. TEST EQUIPMENT 4.1. Field-generating device It uses the antenna TLS (Transmission Line System). The construction and direction of the field generating device shall be such that fiel
7、d polarization is generated as specified in test matrix. 4.2. For transmission line from the probe, a fiber-optic link or high-resistance cable is appropriate. 5. TEST PLAN Before proceedin
9、g with each test, a test matrix shall be generated. Items in test matrix : vehicle type, test conditions, applicable items, application level, notes on test 6. TEST SETUP 6.1. Type of field generating device 6.1.1. Select a proper device that will create a desired field at the reference point. 6.1.2
10、. Use an antenna or TLS(transmission line system). 6.2. Measurement height and distance 6.2.1. Measuring height (from antenna center to test place floor) (1) Vehicle roof height 3m or less : min. 1.5m from antenna (2) Vehicle roof height 3m or more : min. 2.0m from antenna (3) Antenna radiation part
11、 shall be min. 0.25m away from the point where the vehicle is placed. 6.2.2. Measuring distance (1) Generally 1m - 5m. (2) Distance between radiation antenna and electromagnetic wave absorbing body : min. 1.0m (3) Distance between radiation antenna and shield room wall : min. 1.5m (4) No absorbing b
12、ody shall be present between the radiation antenna and test vehicle. 6.3. Position of vehicle and antenna 6.3.1. Distance between each portion of the antenna and the outermost part of the vehicle : min. 0.5m 6.3.2. The field generating device shall be placed on the vehicle center line. (vertical mat
13、ching plane) 6.3.3. Distance between TLS and vehicle : min. 0.5m 6.3.4. The field generating device placed on the vehicle shall be expanded to min. 75% of the vehicle length. 6.4. Vehicle condition during test 6.4.1. Remove all luggages except for the necessary test equipment out of the vehicle insi

15、g wheels shall rotate all the while through test. For this, use a chassis dynamometer. When it is not available, the vehicle shall be supported on the insulated axle stand. For trucks, the transmission shaft may be separated for test. 6.4.3. Set head lamps to “near“ position. 6.4.4. Operate the turn
16、 indication lamp (right or left). 6.4.5. Operate all electric/electronic parts that can affect safe driving.(To be specified on test matrix.) 6.4.6. The vehicle must be electrically isolated from the test site. Regard the heels touching the test place floor as not being electrically connected. 6.4.7

If electric/electronic devices that may directly affect car driving cannot be activated according to specification described in “6.4.1” and “6.4.5”, perform a test on the devices following EDS-T-5512 How to Test Electromagnetic Immunity on Electrical Equipment and Devices. 6.4.8. To observe a test
18、 car, use equipment such as a set of video camera that does not affect the test activities. For the observation, pick up the areas of and the exterior and passenger seat. Then, check if those areas match up to the test standard. 6.4.9. Set the car and the test antenna facing each other. If electroni
19、c control unit and its wiring are set up in the rear part, the test can be performed in the rear. If in the middle area in a long car, set the reference point on the right or left of the car. In this case, sedan, and van are excluded from the long car category. Write down data on the antenna positio

TEST PROCEDURES 8.1. Fiel
25、d application : Use substitution method. Using the substitution method, determine the specific test level (E-field, current, voltage, power) before test. Then, use the level calibrated by the substitution method for the test level applied to the vehicle. 8.1.1. At a time of applied level measurement
26、 with the substitution method, coupling and reflection energy between the antenna and the object to be tested become main factors. During test, the net power shall be kept to the calibration point within 2dB although the forward power increases. Note 1)When the forward power exceeds 2dB, enter this
27、on test report. Note 2)If SWR (standing wave ratio) of the test equipment is within 1.2 : 1, set the reference parameter to test the forward power. 8.1.2. Place the field generating device (antenna) according to clause 6, and place the calibrated isotropic field probe to the reference point. 8.1.3.
28、Instead of an isotropic field probe, an antenna may be used. In this case, the read field level is based on the orthogonal direction and determined isotropic equivalent field. 8.1.4. Without the vehicle in present, use the field probe or antenna to measure field, and record net power that can mainta
29、in the field level according to the given field level and antenna polarization. 8.1.5. Upon completing field level calibration, move the vehicle to the test place. Apply the calibrated net power to the vehicle according to each frequency and antenna polarization specified on the test matrix. EDS-T-5

Reference point for substitution method The reference point is a point based on which the field intensity is measured and calibrated
31、in test. 8.2.1. Vehicle reference point : reference point for substitution method (1) It means the point at which the field is defined and created as follows: (2) A point horizontally at least 2m from the antenna surface center, or a point vertically at least 1m from TLS radiation part. (3) Above ve

In other words, determine the point so that distance between the antenna and the portion nearest from the vehicle outer body is the same as in the vehicle front test. 8.4. After moving the ve
35、hicle to the test place, conduct set-up as in clause 6, and conduct test according to 8.1. 8.5. As specified in the test matrix, scan the electromagnetic wave along each frequency band to horizontal polarization / vertical polarization, and monitor presence of erroneous functions of the vehicle. 8.6

After completing test for all modulation, polarization, frequency band, vehicle direction, antenna positioning mode as specified in the test matrix, detect the threshold immunity field level and threshold creating center frequency. For detection of threshold immunity field level in each threshold
37、creating frequency band, gradually increase the field generating device power level to observe reaction of the vehicle, and then with the power level fixed, change frequency. 9. While in the process of development test, perform a sweeping test at a field intensity of 100V/m per step. If there is anything found defective, lower the intensity and find a the minimu
46、m threshold immunity. If the minimum threshold immunity is above the level matching the class of the electrical devices, treat it as rejected. 9.3.2. Fix a standard for the case that each class satisfies REGION (there must be no malfunction during/after the application of electromagnetic wave). Each
