This specification details the performance requirements for applied organic surface coatings on plastic parts and components, used for either interior or exterior applications on motor vehicles
4、. 1.2 Scope. 5 types of requirement are specified dependent upon the severity of service operation of the component. 1.2.1 Type A1. It is applicable to surface finishes used on the external body and on external components in areas of severe service operations e. g. below the WL-line (Fascia bumper,
5、Radiator grille, MOLDG R/PNL, CVR towing eye etc.) 1.2.2 Type A2. It is applicable to surface finishes used on the external body and on external components in areas of normal service operations e.g. above the WL-line. (Handle trunk lid, OSRVM housing, Door fuel filler, Outside door handle etc.) Note
6、: The requirement of WL-line refers to Figure 1. 1.2.3 Type A3. It is applicable to surface finishes on integral skinned polyurethane foam parts used on the external body. 1.2.4 Type B1. It is applicable to surface finishes used on internal body parts and components within the engine compartment. 1.

The test facilities and equipment shall be in good working order and shall have a valid calibration label. 3.1.2 Alternatives. Alternative test facilities and equipment m
12、ay also be used. However, all measuring variables as specified in this standard shall be determined correctly with respect to their physical definition. 3.1.3 Equipment. Equipment as required by the appropriate test method. 3.1.4 Test Piece. Unless otherwise specified in the appropriate material sta
13、ndard or drawing, number of test pieces shall be as specified in the relevant test method for the property concerned. 3.2 Conditions. 3.2.1 Conditioning. Unless otherwise specified, tests shall be performed on test pieces in the as received condition, without any special preconditioning. Where, for
14、testing to Type A3, sections rather than complete components are used, all cut edges shall be protected against penetration of moisture by suitable means (e. g. with wax, adhesive tapes etc.). 3.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such
15、requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 3.3 Safety. This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not propose to address all the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the use
