This standard specifies the methods of grain flow test for forged or rolled steels. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. Take the test piece from forged or rolled steels by cutting it along the center part of the product in parallel with the working direction and the cut section to be tested shall be milled or grinded, placing its

5、 surface roughness between 12.5 S and 25 S. 3.2 Test Solution. Test solution used in this test shall be the mixed solution of industrial hydrochloride acid and water in the ratio of 1:1. 4 Procedures 4.1 Conditions. 4.1.1 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have

6、been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.2 Instructions. 1 P7 :0 : ., E:48 6 therefore observation shall be conducted frequently. 6.4 Hydrochloric acid solution begins to turn green about 30 minutes after commencement of heating

7、. In case it is used for a long time, its color concentration deepens, which means solution is aged, so it shall be replaced by new solution. Aged solution has low etching effect and so new solution shall be, in principle, used for every test. 6.5 When disposing hydrochloric acid solution, store it

8、in a specified container without fail and then dispose it in the waste water disposal plant of the company. 7 Notes 7.1 Glossary. Grain Flow: Grain flow means the flow of grain strained under such stress as forging or rolling from outside. 7.2 Acronyms, Abbreviations, and Symbols. Not applicable. 8
