This test specification defines a method for applying and manufacturing oil films o
3、f reproducible thickness on steel surfaces. 1.2 Applicability. The manufacture of a defined oil film is used as pre-treatment of a test piece for further tests such as corrosion resistance, adhesiveness of coatings, etc. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless oth

6、edures 4.1 Conditions. 4.1.1 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc 4.2 Instructions. 4.2.1 Definition of Oiling Grade. The oiling grade is defined by
7、the oil amount on the test surface of a test piece. The oiling grade list: 4.2.1.1 Light. 1.5 to 2.0 mg oil per 100 cm2 test surface. 4.2.1.2 Medium. 7.5 to 9.5 mg oil per 100 cm2 test surface. 4.2.1.3 Strong. 15.5 to 17.0 mg oil per 100 cm2 test surface. To achieve the required oiling grade in accordance with clause 4.2.1, an oil solution shall be manufactured from the specified oil to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 and the benzine to
9、 3.1.4. The concentration of this oil solution, which is required for achievement of the requirement to 4, depends on the kind of the relevant oil(e.g. its viscosity) and the type of the test piece and is specified in the separate specifications. For a oil film with ASTM-oil No. 1 on plates of the d
10、imension (100100) mm, the required film thickness is achieved with the following concentrations. y Light: 3 parts ASTM-oil No. 1 + 97 parts benzene. y Medium: 5 parts ASTM-oil No. 1 + 95 parts benzene. y Strong: 8 parts ASTM-oil No. 1 + 92 parts benzene. 4.2.3 Manufacture of the Oil Film. 4.2.3.1 Th
11、e test piece to be coated shall be cleaned with a cloth to 3.1.7 which is soaked in benzene to 3.1.4, afterwards, washed with the same benzene and dried in the air. 4.2.3.2 Immediately after the drying, the test piece shall be dipped into the appropriate oil solution to 4.2.2 for about one minute an
12、d removed again from it so that the solution drips vertically from the surface to be coated on the shortest way. 4.2.3.3 The test piece shall be dried for about 10 min under the same condition as in 4.2.3.2 in the air and stored again in the same position at +50 E 2.5K in the desiccator 3.1.5 for 16
