2、s and regulations. Note: In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 1.1 Purpose. This test procedure evaluates the performance of the heater pads in seats under a cyclical localized loading. It is intended to evaluate the performan

3、ce of the heater pad in the seat, not the seat structure. 1.2 Foreword. Not applicable. 1.3 Applicability. This test shall be applied to all General Motors vehicles. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications

4、. None 2.2 GM Standards/Specifications. None 2.3 Additional References. None 3 Resources 3.1 Facilities. An approved GM certified test lab with an adequate bedplate or equivalent work surface necessary for mounting of the test sample and associated test fixtures. 3.2 Equipment. 3.2.1 Mounting Blocks

5、. Rigid mounting blocks to simulate the floor attachment points to mount the seat system in body position on a bed plate or equivalent work surface. 3.2.2 Knee Form. A 127 mm (5 in) diameter knee form. 3.2.3 Load Application Device. A pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder capable of applying a maximum loa

6、d, as specified in the Global Seat System Technical Specifications, and capable of attaching to the load cell connected to the knee form. 3.2.4 Heater Pad Monitoring Device. 3.3 Test Vehicle/Test Piece. Complete Trimmed Seat Subsystem. An appropriate seat subsystem consisting of all components neces

7、sary to qualify as complete for the model and trim level specified by the Design Release Engineer (DRE). 3.4 Test Time. Calendar time: 9 days Test hours: 7 hours Coordination hours: 8 hours 3.5 Test Required Information. Not applicable. 3.6 Personnel/Skills. The following individuals are necessary t

8、o complete this test procedure: GM DRE, GM Validation Engineer, Testing Organizations Test Engineer, and Testing Organizations Test Technician. Obtain the following test details from the GM Responsible Engineer: Loading locations (normally th

10、ree (3) specified); one location must be on top of heater mat where the mat wire connects to the wiring harness. (See Figure 1). Figure 1: Knee Load Equipment Note: Place the knee load equipment over a seat assembly complete. The area that will be loaded is called out in 4.1.1. 4.1.2 Mounting Seat C

11、ushion. Mount the seat subsystem to the appropriate model mounting blocks. Include mounting spacers if specified for installation. 4.1.3 Mounting Seat Back. By using the recliner or other attachment suspend seat back 50 mm minimum horizontal above mounting block, allowing the back to flex. 4.1.4 Set

12、up. There are multiple setups for this procedure and, therefore, other preparation information is integrated into the instruction 4.3. 4.2 Conditions. 4.2.1 Environmental Conditions. Conduct test in a room temperature environment. 4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this stand

13、ard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.3 Instructions. 4.3.1 Install the seat cushion in the design position. Let the system soak a minimum of 4 h at temperature. 4.3.2 Attach the heater monitoring devise to the

14、 system and monitor current and change of resistance. Attach the heater monitoring devise directly to the heater wire, bypassing the module, is acceptable. 4.3.3 Attach the knee form to the load cell. Set the vertical load to the specification in the Subsystem Technical Specification (SSTS), (as a g

15、uideline and if not otherwise stated in the SSTS, use 980 N for locations in the center area of the cushion, and 500 N on the outer wings). 4.3.4 Apply the vertical load at the prescribed location on the seat cushion with the movement limited to 120 mm and at the rate of 24 cycles per minute maximum

The cyclic requirements are called out in the requirements section of the Global Subsystem Technical Specification (GSSTS). 4.3.5 During cycling, monitor per this requirement; eight (8) minutes at simulated vehicle operation control on highest setting power off for 22 minutes and repeat. Monitor h

17、eater element current at these intervals. 4.3.6 Repeat 4.3.1 through 4.3.5 for the remaining test locations per (4.1.1). 4.3.7 Evaluate the heater system to ensure no degradation has occurred after test. Use a microscope to evaluate wire or composite fatigue has not occurred and document results in

18、the test report. 4.3.8 Check resistance characteristics performance of the heated seat. Performance shall fall within the design parameters and document results in the test report.
