Note: Unless otherwise stated as gage (G), pressures listed within the specification are absolute. 1.1 Scope. This specifi

3、cation establishes the minimum requirements for the air conditioning compressor to be used with refrigerant R134a. The functions, performance, reliability, and validation required of any compressor are defined in this document. This specification is for internally controlled variable capacity compre

4、ssors. All requirements of this specification must be met in order to demonstrate design and production validation. 1.2 Mission/Theme. The compressor assembly accepts low pressure, low temperature refrigerant at an inlet port, compresses this refrigerant by a variety of mechanisms, and exhausts a hi

5、gh temperature, high pressure refrigerant at an outlet port. Power to drive the compressor is supplied by a separate power source, such as the vehicle power plant. The compressor assembly must conform to all requirements in this specification, as well as, the approved engineering drawings. 1.3 Class

Typical appearance is compr

11、essor body with a natural aluminum finish and the clutch with a low gloss black finish to match with other underhood components. Deviations from this are permissible, but must be approved by the releasing GM engineering group. 3.1.2 Content. The following paragraphs specify the requirements for the

12、physical and functional content of the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor. 3.1.2.1 Physical Content. The physical content of the compressor includes the following: Inlet Port (Suction) Outlet Port (Discharge) Clutch/Pulley/Thermal Fuse Mounting Provisions High Pressure Relief Device Electrical Connec

13、tor for Clutch High Temperature Cut-out Switch (optional) High Pressure Cut-out Switch (optional) High Side Low-pressure Switch (optional) Shipping Caps Lubricant Control Valve Device 3.1.2.2 Functional Content. The A/C compressor is to provide the following functions: 3.1.2.2.1 The compressor circu

14、lates refrigerant in the A/C system. 3.1.2.2.2 The compressor affects pressure out of the evaporator. 3.1.2.2.3 The compressor provides high pressure and high temperature gas to the condenser. 3.1.2.2.4 High Pressure Relief Valve (HPRV). The compressor shall provide provisions for a high pressure re

15、lief device that complies with SAE J639. 3.1.2.2.4.1 High Pressure Relief Valve Location. The pressure relief valve design and location must follow GM Best Practice HVACPTC-125: Location of the compressor high pressure relief valve. 3.1.2.2.5 Control Valve. The control valve controls compressor disp

16、lacement to meet system needs. 3.1.3 Ambient Environment. The electrical components contained on the A/C compressor shall be able to withstand ambient air temperatures from -40 C to +125 C, with intermittent temperature requirements of +150 C for up to one hour of run time. The A/C compressor shall

17、be able to withstand humidity of up to 100% within a 25 mm envelope around the compressor body and clutch without damage to function or appearance. As required, part or all, of the compressor may be used as a fixture device for component testing. Test according to GMW3172 with mounting location at t

20、roduct Characteristics. 3.2.1 Performance Requirements. The paragraphs in this section specify the functional requirements for the A/C compressor. Data shall be submitted on compressors run sequentially through these performance tests for validation purposes at each stage of development. 3.2.1.1 Int

21、ernal Variable Value Performance Tests. 3.2.1.1.1 Minimum Capacity and Coefficient of Performance (COP). Minimum requirements are defined in Table 1. Variation in random samples taken from production shall not exceed 10% total. Coefficient of Performance is defined as the capacity divided by the mec

22、hanical power consumption. 24、1.2 Maximum and Minimum Speed Definition. 3.2.1.1.2.1 Maximum Continuous RPM. Maximum continuous speed is defined per the durability test specification at condition 10 of Table A1 in Appendix A. The compressor must run a minimum of 10 h at this condition at 8500 rpm (all compressor types). 3.2.1.1.2

25、.2 Maximum Excursion RPM. Maximum excursion speed is defined per the durability test specification at condition 11 of Table A1 in Appendix A. The compressor must run a minimum of 10 minutes at this condition at 10 500 rpm (all compressor types). 3.2.1.1.2.3 Minimum RPM. The compressor shall be capab

26、le of running at a minimum speed of 575 compressor rpm. 3.2.1.1.2.4 Minimum Compressor Displacement. The minimum displacement of the compressor shall be 150 000 cycles at 5 Hz frequency with no appreciable loss of torque from the initial test conditions. 30、on IP6K8 4.3.1.2.14 Oil Drainage Capability. Take initial weight of both a production and service compressor. Drain through normal service procedure for five minutes. Re-weigh to confirm requirement is met for both compressors. 4.3.1.2.15 Mass Properties. For purposes of compliance to the mass requi

31、rement for the basic pump and clutch design, the compressor mounting arrangement will be assumed to be GMs large VDA design with a 110 mm diameter, six groove pulley regardless of the actual application. Each unique application is to be measured with the requirement being adjusted accordingly by the

32、 mass offset calculated using UG programs of the different pulley and casting combinations versus the described baseline. Requirement adjustment assumptions must be agreed to by the GM Validation Engineer. 5 Provisions for Shipping The compressor shall be compatible with commercial shipping by rail,

33、 truck or boat and include restraining provisions if necessary. Compressor degradation of appearance, performance, or durability due to shipping is not acceptable. Particular concerns are fluid leaks, fastener torque, chafing/abrasion of line/hoses and cracking or separations. 5.1 Assemblies shall b

34、e packaged free from dust and foreign objects. 5.2 A/C compressor assemblies shall be filled with lubricant below the point of leakage. The block fitting shall be covered with a shipping cap. Shipping caps for the part as delivered to the assembly plants must conform to 52465700 or 52457600. 6 Notes

35、 6.1 Glossary. Essential Tool: A tool called out in the manufacturers service manual diagnosis or repair procedure, which is required to perform that operation. MCON: A series of multiple contact electrical wiring terminals from Tyco Electronics. Slugging Event: A result occurring when the compresso
