Polyurethane (PUR) foam from foam wastes (flocks compound). 1.2 S

2、ymbols. Not applicable. 1.3 Typical Applications. Foam for reinforcement cushion overlayer, e.g., seat back at the side. 1.3.1 Types. 1.3.1.1 Type 1. This type has a density of 90 kg/m to 120 kg/m and a compression load deflection of 9 kPa to 12 kPa. 1.3.1.2 Type 2. This type has a higher density of

3、 110 kg/m to 130 kg/m and a higher compression load deflection of 15 kPa to 25 kPa. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet guidance documents (available at ). 3 Requirements 3.1 General. For the finished part only, foam flocks of ne

5、arly equal hardness may be applied. The origin of the foam wastes shall be noted on the certification data form. 3.2 Test Piece and Number. If it is not possible to take test pieces from molded part, than suitable plates shall be manufactured for the test (taken from equal manufacturing process, rec

6、ipe of foam and density). The test piece shall be taken without skin and in rising direction of foam. 3.3 Conditioning. Immediately prior test, all test pieces shall be pre-dried at +70 C 3 C and conditioned. The pre-drying period shall be 16 h for tests conducted after humidity aging to GMW14357 an

7、d shall be 3 h for other tests. Following pre-drying, all test pieces shall be conditioned to GMW3221, Code A. 3.4 Required Performance Values. All requirements listed in Table 1 shall be fulfilled by the delivered foam and shall be documented by the supplier in the Foam Certification Data Form. 3.5

8、 Basic Foam Physical Properties. All requirements listed in Table 2 shall be fulfilled by the delivered foam and shall be documented by the supplier in the Foam Certification Data Form. Values indicated with “TBD” (“to be determined”) shall be documented and may be noted on the drawing/in the math d

9、ata for production quality check purposes. Values indicated with “N/A” (“not applicable”) are not required. Documentation of additional properties may be required by the approving region. At the discretion of the approving GM Engineer, foam material may be tested to standard composite materials for initial foam approval, e.g., a standard vinyl. All materials must satisfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of confli

31、ct between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or materials released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the r

32、esponsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release m

33、ust be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include documentation of all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and

34、 documented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissi

35、ons, or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-s

36、pecific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.5 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of

37、 GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Materials supplied to this specification must be approved by General Motors. A list of approved materials can be found in MATSPC. This GM Material File is provided to third parties to reduce redundant testing of materials.

38、If approved material already listed is used, the part supplier can use GM Material File reference for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) material approval. If the decision is made to use a not yet approved material, contact Materials Engineering for details on the approval process. The material
