This standard describes materials types of Styrene Maleic Anhydride (S/MA) copolymer th

2、at are used in injection components. Code letters, in addition to GMW3013 guidelines that apply to this standard, are listed in 1.2. 1.1.1 Types. The classification into groups is according to the different properties as described in Table 1 and Table 2. 1.2 Symbols. The material abbreviation accord

3、ing to ISO 11469 is S/MAS/MA-GF12S/MA-GF16S/MA-GF20. 1.3 Typical Applications. 5、 Material Safety Data Sheet guidance documents (available at ). 3 Requirements 3.1 Material Requirements. Materials approved to this standard shall meet the requirements of GMW3013, General Requirements for Handling of Technical Terms of Delivery for Plastics. 3.2 Requirements on Delivery. Important

6、 physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in Table 1. Note: For each product, the requirements to Table 1 shall be documented by Certification Statement according to GMW3013. The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications, and ot

7、herwise. 3.3 Requirements on Test Specimens. Unless otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be accomplished per ISO 294 with the conditions for injection molding from ISO 2580-2. Test methods and specimen dimensions are also to be in accordance with ISO 2580-2 with the followi

8、ng additions: use ISO 3167, Type 1A, thickness 4 mm for tensile and flexural properties. 3.3.1 All tests shall be performed on specimen 40 h minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 h minimum in a controlled atmosphere per GMW3221, Code A, unless otherwise specifie

9、d. All tests shall be performed on unannealed specimens. 3.3.2 The values specified in Table 1 shall be met by test specimens in natural or black. For integrally colored grades where other additive systems (e.g., stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease more than 10% from the speci

10、fied minimum value. 11、013 Page 2 of 4 3.3.3 Chemical Requirements. All parts manufactured from molding compounds shall be resistant to the media they contact at their place of use. 3.4 Compound Properties. See Table 1. The following are also required for full specification approval. The minimum number of lots per test re

12、quired is one in natural: Tensile Modulus, Poisson Ratio, and Stress Strain Curve at +23 C, +85 C, -30 C. Test Report according to GMW16853. 3.5 Performance Requirements. Performance requirements, e.g., flammability, fogging or resistance to odor, shall be specified on part drawings or in component

13、specifications. All materials must satisfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict between the English

20、 and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or materials released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the responsible Engineering

21、 department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, manufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must be completed. It i

22、s the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include documentation of all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and documented by the sup

23、plier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between the responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions, or when a change

24、in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requi

25、rements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where available. 5.5 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted a

26、nd Reportable Substances for Parts. 6 Approved Sources Materials supplied to this specification must be approved by General Motors. A list of approved materials can be found in MATSPC. This GM Material File is provided to third parties to reduce redundant testing of materials. If approved material a

27、lready listed is used, the part supplier can use GM Material File reference for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) material approval. If the decision is made to use a not yet approved material, contact Material Engineering for details on the approval process. The material approval process must
