2、1 of 4 1 Scope 1.1 Material Description. This specification describes glass fiber reinforced, heat stabilized, non-conductive polyamide 66 (nylon 66) which is used in injected form. This material is used for electrical components. Copper heat stabilizers are not allowed in this resin. 1.2 Symbols. T

The classification into groups is according to the different ranges of glass fiber content. Additional glass ranges will be added as they become necessary. 2 Reference

6、al Terms of Delivery for Plastics. 3.1 Requirements on Delivery. Important physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in Table 1. The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. 3.2 Requirements on Test Specimens. Unl

7、ess otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be accomplished per ISO 294 with the conditions for injection molding from ISO 1874-2. Test methods and specimen dimensions are also to be in accordance with ISO 1874-2. All values indicated herein are based on material considered to

8、 be in the dry-as-molded state with moisture content of 0.2% maximum (ASTM D6869, ISO 15512, Method A or B, or GMW14335). Immediately after molding, per ISO 1874-2, specimens shall be sealed in moisture-proof containers and stored at 22 C 3 C for at least 24 h. All tests shall be performed on unanne

9、aled specimens immediately after their removal from the containers in a controlled atmosphere per GMW3221, Code A, unless otherwise specified. In addition, tests specified at temperatures below or above 22 C 3 C shall be conducted at the specified temperature using specimens conditioned at the speci

10、fied temperature for 4 h minimum. The values specified in Table 1 shall be met by test specimens in natural, black or in a standard sampled color if natural or black are not available. See Table 1. The following are also required for full standard approval. The minimum num

12、ber of lots per test required for the following properties is one in natural: Poissons Ratio, Coefficient of Linear Thermal Expansion (CLTE), Mold Shrinkage, Stress Strain Curve at multiple temperatures (for example -30 C, 23 C, 140 C). See GMW3013 for all test procedures and parameters. 3.4 Require

13、ments on Parts. Parts of this material type shall have a water content at delivery, when tested per GMW14335 or ISO 15512, Method A or B, of at least: 1.5% by mass for material types reinforced up to 20% by mass. 1.0% by mass for material types reinforced over 20% by mass. Deviations from this shall

14、 be specifically indicated on the part drawings. 3.5 Performance Requirements. Performance requirements shall be specified on part drawings or in component specifications. All parts manufactured from molding compounds shall be resistant to the media they contact, such as aliphatic and aromatic hydro

15、carbons, fuels, lubricants, oils, greases and alcohols, at their places of use. 21、ions. All materials must satisfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or

22、 materials released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the responsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., pro

23、perties, manufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include docum

24、entation of all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. If not otherwise agreed, all release tests shall be repeated and documented by the supplier prior to commencement of delivery of non-conforming bulk supplies. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed

25、 to between the responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Initial Source Approval. No shipments shall be made by any supplier until representative initial production samples have been approved by the appropriate Materials Engineering department(s) as meeting the requirements of this s

26、pecification. 5.5 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globall

27、y Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance docume

28、nts where available. 5.6 All materials supplied to this standard must comply with the requirements of GMW3059, Restricted and Reportable Substances for Parts.
