In assessing, for example, total aircraft emissions at a specific airport, consideration must be given to the appropriateness of th
12、e prescribed thrusts, the times in mode and the reference conditions. b) The LTO cycle only assesses the emissions below 915 m (3 o00 ft) and therefore may not be a good guide for comparing the emissions of different engines in other ight modes, e.g. cruise. REVISION OF DATA The data bank will be re
13、vised and reissued on a regular basis. New data will be included for: a) engines certificated since the last issue of the data bank; b) engines already certificated for which data were not previously available; or c) engines already certificated and listed in the data bank for which: 1) emissions da
14、ta have been recalculated as a result of a better definition of engine performance characteristics with continuing production of an engine type; . 2) component design changes have been introduced which affect the emissions levels, e.g. new combustor design; or 3) improvements in emissions measuremen
15、t techniques have resulted in changes to their emissions data. 37、ngines) and are included for reference purposes only. 1. SUBSONIC ENGINES 1.1 Smoke 1.1.1 Applicability The regulatory levels are applicable to engines whose date of manufacture is on or after 1 January 1983. 1.1.2 Regulatory smoke number The characteristic level of the smoke number at any thrust se
38、tting, measured in accordance with Annex 16, Volume II, must not exceed 83.6 (Fm)-00.274 or a value of 50, whichever is lower. 1.2 Gaseous emissions 1.2.1 Applicability The regulatory levels apply to engines whose rated output is greater than 26.7 kN and whose date of manufacture is on or after 1 Ja
39、nuary 1986 and as further specified for oxides of nitrogen. 1.2.2 Regulatory levels The characteristic levels of the gaseous emissions measured over the LTO cycle in accordance with Annex 16, Volume II, must not exceed the following regulatory levels: Hydrocarbons (HC): DJFw = 19.6 Carbon monoxide (
