36、vering products intended for normal indoor premises use in the iring systems of communications users. he parameters covered provide material, construction, and performance re uirements. Because this Standard does not cover all details of individual cable design, it cannot be used as a single documen

37、t for procurement of product. his Standard is intended for use in con unction ith an individual product specification that provides complete design details for the specific cable type and designates the applicable performance re uirements. Such individual cable specifications may be prepared either

38、by the user or the manufacturer. he specification designated for procurement is at the option of the user. 1.2 SCOPE his Standard covers mechanical, electrical and flammability re uirements for riser cables. epending upon the application and system re uirements, this Standard provides choices for ma

39、terials and transmission characteristics. or those characteristics here no differentiation is made, the performance re uirements are applicable to all cables. Selection of the applicable type shall be at the discretion of the user and shall be designated in the product specification. 1.3 OP IONS AN

40、IN O A ION his Standard is arranged in Sections covering specific areas of cable re uirements and may be referenced as complete Sections or as individual paragraphs. iser cables are suitable for runs in vertical shafts of multi-story buildings. he typical cable construction is individually unshielde

41、d t isted pair of thermoplastic insulated copper conductors, ith an overall 8-mil bonded aluminum shield and thermoplastic ac et. Such cables are typically available in pair counts from 25-3600. hese cables are intended for voice, text, data, video, and image transmission and are categori ed by elec

42、trical transmission characteristics based on existing system re uirements and pro ected application needs. istorically, iser cable transmission performance has been similar to Outside Plant re uirements. Optionally, Category 3 performance may be chosen, and must be clearly mar ed. his Standard cover
