35、eventy-third session in December 2000, by resolution mSC.98(73), in order to provide international standards for the fire safety systems and equipment required by chapter ii-2 of the 1974 SolaS Convention. the Code is made mandatory under SolaS amendments to the Convention adopted by the mSC at the
36、same session, by resolution mSC.99(73), and entered into force on 1 July 2002.the FSS Code has been amended in accordance with SolaS article Viii as follows:.1 by the may 2006 amendments, which were adopted by resolution mSC.206(81) and entered into force on 1 July 2010;.2 by the December 2006 amend

46、Sea (SolaS), 1974, as amended.2 on or after 1 July 2002, this Code will be mandatory for fire safety systems required by the 1974 SolaS Convention, as amended. any future amendment to the Code must be adopted and brought into force in accordance with the procedure laid down in article Viii of the Co
47、nvention.Chapter 1 General1 Application1.1 this Code is applicable to fire safety systems as referred to in chapter ii-2 of the international Convention for the Safety of life at Sea, 1974, as amended.1.2 Unless expressly provided otherwise, this Code is applicable for the fire safety systems of shi
48、ps the keels of which are laid or which are at a similar stage of construction on or after 1 July 2002. However, amendments to the Code adopted after 1 July 2002 shall apply only to ships the keels of which are laid or which are at a similar stage of construction, on or after the date on which the a
49、mendments enter into force, unless expressly provided otherwise.2 Definitions2.1 Administration means the government of the State whose flag the ship is entitled to fly.2.2 Convention means the international Convention for the Safety of life at Sea, 1974, as amended.2.3 Fire Safety Systems Code means the international Code for Fire Safety Systems as defined in chapter ii-2 of the international Convention for the Safety of life at Sea,
