Change Notice: Replaced “International Truck and Engine Corporation” with “Navistar, Inc.” per corporate directive. 1.0 SCOPE This method is for the determination of dry film conductivity. 2.0 APPARATUS 2.1 Recirculating oven capable of maintaining a temperature of 49 + 3C (120 + 5F) 2.2 Conduct
5、ivity or “sprayability” meter, Ransburg Model 236 or equivalent 3.0 MATERIAL Fiber glass reinforced plastic (FRP) panels available from Materials Engineering, International Truck and Engine Corporation., P. O. Box 1109, 2911 Meyer Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46801-1109. 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Prepare two p
6、anels according to the procedure specified for Grade -52 in Test Method GT-13, Panel Preparation, Method H. Proceed up to but not including the step in which the primed and dried panels are sanded. 4.2 Age the panels for 72 hours in a recirculating oven at 49 + 3C (120 + 5F), remove and cool to 21 t
7、o 27C (70 to 80F). 4.3 Using the sprayability meter, take readings on each panel at three different locations and record the lowest value. If the primer system consists of more than one coat, the final coat will be checked for conductivity. For primers with alternate drying procedures, conductivity
8、readings will be taken for each procedure. 5.0 REPORT Record and report whether the paint passes or fails this test. If alternate drying procedures are evaluated, record and report these results also.
