Change Notice: Replaced “International Truck and Engine Corporation” with “Navistar, Inc.” per corporate directive. 1.0 SCOPE This is a method for evaluating the baking properties of an organic coating. 2.0 APPARATUS Recirculating oven capable of maintaining the specified tempe

5、rature within a range of + 3C (+ 5F) 3.0 MATERIAL Bonderite CD-10 or Bonderite 958 zinc phosphated steel panels, 100 x 150 mm (4 x 6 inches), available from Advanced Coatings Technologies, 273 Industrial Drive, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242. OR Fiber glass reinforced plastic panels available from Materi

6、als Engineering, Navistar, 2911 Meyer Road, P. O. Box 1109, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46801-1109. 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Prepare two panels as listed below for each grade of paint being tested according to the procedure specified in CEMS Test Method GT-13, Panel Preparation. For Grades -50, -52, -52HS, -52W, -

7、53, and -53A, proceed up to but not including the step in which the primed and dried panels are sanded. 4.1.1 Two steel panels - Grades -17, -17HS, -18, -19, -19HS, -29, -29HS, -29T, -29THS, -32W, -32HS/Ur, -33, -50, -53, -53A, -54,-55, -55W, and 56. OR 4.1.2 Two fiber glass reinforced plastic panel

8、s for Grade -52, -52HS, and -52W 4.2 After curing for the specified time and temperature, as shown on the applicable grade sheet from CEMS G-5, Paints, allow panels to cool to room temperature. 4.3 Determine if the paint is dry by lightly touching the painted surface with a clean dry finger using a

9、slight pressure. 5.0 REPORT Report whether the paint passes or fails this test. The paint will pass, if the panels exhibit a dry film which will not mark when touched and which contains no wrinkles, craters or other imperfections after being dried according to the procedure specified on the applicable grade sheet from the CEMS G-5, Paints.
