4、ange Notice: Replaced “International Truck and Engine Corporation” with “Navistar, Inc.” per corporate directive. 1.0 SCOPE The purpose of this method is to evaluate the ability of paint to be applied over a heated substrate without appearance of film degradation. 2.0 APPARATUS Recirculating oven ca
5、pable of maintaining a temperature up to 93 C (200 F) within +/- 3 C (+/- 5 F). 3.0 MATERIAL 3.1 Clean, bare steel test panels available from Advanced Coatings Technologies, 273 Industrial Drive, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242. 3.2 Aluminum test panels. 3.3 Bonderite CD-10 or Bonderite 958 zinc phosphate
6、d steel panels, 100 x 200 mm (4 x 8 inches), available from Advanced Coatings Technologies, 273 Industrial Drive, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242. 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Place one of each of the three (3) types of panels in a recirculating oven at 79 C (175 F) within (+/- 5 F) for fifteen minutes. 4.2 Within t
7、hirty seconds, spray the panel according to CEMS Test Method GT-13, Method B, omitting Steps 1-3. 4.3 After drying, age the prepared panels in a recirculating oven for 72 hours at 49 +/-3 C (120 +/- -5 F). Remove and cool to 21 to 27 C (70 to 80 F). 4.4 Examine the panels: Any evidence of cratering,
8、 paint film separation, loss of gloss, or change of appearance from unheated panels will constitute a failure. 5.0 REPORT Report whether the paint passes or fails this test.
