Change Notice: Replaced “International Truck and Engine Corporation” with “Navistar, Inc.” per corporate directive. 1.0 SCOPE This is a method for evaluating the quality of a dry film of paint at a time three months after the paint was initially received. 2.0 MATERIAL Bonderite CD-10 or Bonderit
5、e 958 zinc phosphated steel panels, 100 x 150 mm (4 x 6 inches), available from Advanced Coatings Technologies, 273 Industrial Drive, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242. 3.0 PROCEDURE 3.1 Three months after the time of receipt, prepare the paint for testing according to the steps outlined in CEMS G-5, Part I
6、, Section B, under ”Sampling Procedure”. 3.2 Prepare two panels according to the procedure specified for the applicable grade in Test Method GT-13, Panel Preparation, except dry the panels in a horizontal position in air at 21 to 27C (70 to 80F) for the time periods specified on the grade sheets. 3.
7、3 Determine if the paint is tack free by touching the painted surface of each panel with the finger using a slight pressure. The paint will pass if, when tested three months after the time of receipt, both panels exhibit a dry film which is tack free. 4.0 REPORT Report whether the paint passes or fails this test.
