4、ange Notice: Replaced “International Truck and Engine Corporation” with “Navistar, Inc.” per corporate directive. 1.0 INTRODUCTION This is a method for evaluating the ability of a dry film of paint to adhere to a dry film of primer or a dry film of top coat. 2.0 APPARATUS Recirculating oven capable

5、of maintaining a temperature of 49 + 3C (120 + 5F) 3.0 MATERIAL 3.1 Bonderite CD-10 or Bonderite 958 zinc phosphated steel panels, 100 x 150 mm (4 x 6 inches), available from Advanced Coatings Technologies, 273 Industrial Drive, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242. OR Fiber glass reinforced plastic panels ava

6、ilable from Materials Engineering, International Truck and Engine Corporation, P. O. Box 1109, Ft. Wayne, Indiana 46801-1109. 3.2 No. 360 sandpaper, Permacell #99, or 3M etc. 3.3 Transparent cellophane tape, 3M Co. No. 610 available from Gardner Laboratories or from local 3M distributors. 3.4 Tack r

7、ag 3.5 Scribing knife 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Prepare the appropriate quantity and type of panels for the grade of paint being tested according to the procedure specified in Test Method GT-13, Panel Preparation. For Grades that are oven dried double the specified drying time (overbake). 4.1.1 Two Bonderit

8、e CD-10 or Bonderite 958 zinc phosphated steel panels - Grades -17, -17HS, -18, -19, -19HS, -29, -29HS, -29T, -29THS, -50, -55, and -55W 4.1.2 Four Bonderite CD-10 or Bonderite 958 zinc phosphated steel panels - Grades -53 and -53A 4.1.3 Two fiber glass reinforced plastic panels - Grades -52, -52HS,

9、 and -52W For Grades -53, -53A, -55, and -55W where four panels are prepared, two alternative drying procedures, an air dry and an oven dry, are specified. For these grades, two panels will be dried according to the air drying procedure and the remaining two panels will be overbaked according to the

12、d; for these grades, both panels will be dried according to this procedure. 4.2 For Grades -17, -17HS, -18, -19, -19HS, -29, -29HS, -29T, and -29THS, wet sand both of the prepared panels for one-half of their length with No. 360 sandpaper. Wash these panels in water, dry wipe with industrial grade x

13、ylene, dry with absorbent paper and wipe with a tack rag. Apply another coat of the same enamel to both of the prepared panels and again dry according to the procedure outlined in Panel Preparation. 4.3 For all grades, age the panels for 72 hours in a recirculating oven at 49 + 3C (120 + 5F), remove
