4、words: Urethane Foam; Interior Trim 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers a molded cellular polyurethane foam which forms an integral skin and is suitable for use in certain interior truck trim applications. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, property and performance r

5、equirements, quality, quality control, and source approval for the coating, the integral skin, and the cellular polyurethane foam. 2.1 Restricted Chemical SubstancesEffective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS

6、 B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. 12、ckness: 6.4 1 mm (0.25 .04 inch) Pigmented to provide 90% color match to the color specified on the part drawing. 4.4 Cellular Polyurethane Elastomer Density, (ASTM D 3574, Method A) Core Sample: 10 kg/m (0.62 lbs/ft) minimum Color: Pigmented to provide 90% color match to the color specified on the

13、part drawing. 4.5 Property And Performance Requirements Material supplied shall meet all requirements of this specification unless otherwise specifically designated on the engineering drawing. 4.5.1 Finished Parts 4.5.1.1 Hardness ASTM D2240, Method A: Required: 50 5 points 4.5.1.2 Dry Heat Age - AS

14、TM D 3574 Test K except as indicated below: Short term test - 1 hour at 100C (212F) Long term test - 168 hours at 65C (150F) Required: There shall be no blistering, softening, or discoloration. Hardness shall not increase by more than 10 points. 4.5.1.3 Adhesion to Inserts ASTM D 429 Method B, use f

15、or metal or plastic inserts. Test before and after Dry Heat Age in section 4.5.1.2. Required: 600 N/m(width), foam failure only, adhesive failure shall be considered as failing this test. 4.5.2 Integral Skin and In-mold Coating Properties shall be measured on a film cut from a molded part such that

16、the thickness of the skin and included foam is 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) 0.25 mm (0.01 inch). 4.5.2.1 Tensile Test - ASTM D 412, Method 4, Die A: Required: Tensile Strength: 1.2 MPa (180 psi) min Elongation: 80% min 4.5.2.2 Tear Resistance - ASTM D 624, D14 C: Required: 4.4kN/m (25 lbf per inch) minimum 4.5

17、.2.3 Low Temperature Resistance - SAE J323, Method A, -32C (-25F) Required: Pass 4.5.2.4 Abrasion Resistance - ASTM D 3884, CS #10 Wheel, 500 gm load, 500 cycles Required: No appreciable loss of grain, texture, or any color change. Suppliers are required to assume all patent liability. 2008 by Navistar, Inc. 4.5.2.5 Performance Requirements The following performance tests for the integral skin and coating may be performed on any convenient sample of the finish surface having thickness of not less than 2.5mm (0

20、.1 inch). 4.5.2.5.1 Humidity - ASTM D 2247, Method: Prepare samples as described in the Test Method. Scribe an “X“ through the coated surface. Expose the scribed surface to 100 hours of condensing humidity. Required: Coating shall not exhibit any blistering, spotting, discoloration, softening, or lo

21、ss of adhesion at a distance greater than 1.6mm (0.063 inch) from the scribed lines and shall pass the adhesion requirement listed below: 4.5.2.5.2 Coating Adhesion Test - ASTM D 3359, Method A Required: 5A rating, minimum 4.5.2.5.3 Sunlight Resistance - ASTM G 53 Required: There shall be no color a

22、lteration after 200 hours of continuous exposure to UV-A ent light. fluoresc4.5.2.5.4 Color Fastness - SAE J861, Method: Perform crock test, dry, wet, with petroleum Naptha, with Xylene, and with Fuel B (ASTM D 47). Required: Minimum rating of 4 on the AATCC color transference chart. 4.5.3 Cellular

23、Polyurethane Foam Prepare samples by removing the integral skin and coating to a depth of 2.5mm (0.1 inch) minimum. 4.5.3.1 Tensile Test - ASTM D 412, Method A, Die A Required: Tensile Strength: 0.45 MPa (65 psi) minimum Elongation: 70% minimum 4.5.3.2 Tear Resistance - ASTM D 624, Die C Required: 1

24、.8 KN/m (10 lbf per inch) minimum 4.5.3.3 Compression Set - ASTM D 3574, Test D, 50% Defection Required: 50% maximum set. 4.5.4 Flammability Material and parts must conform to and be certified by the supplier to meet all requirements of the latest issue of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVS

25、S) No. 302 - Flammability of Interior Materials, and all requirements of TMS-9544. 5.0 QUALITYMaterial supplied to this specification shall be free from objectionable odor, and shall be uniform in color, finish, and texture. All material produced to this specification shall be clean and free of dirt

26、, grease, and contamination. All rubber debris from cutting and processing shall be removed. Parts shall be free of voids. 5.1 QualificationMaterials submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 5.1.1 A detailed, signed test report documenting testing to this specificati

27、on per TMS-9543. 29、ce preparation (when appropriate) and condition of the test materials. 5.1.3 A complete description, including engineering prints and pictures of any non-standard test fixtures used. 5.1.4 Adhesive, substrate and any chemicals used for bonding where appropriate. 5.2 Submission The material test repo

30、rt shall be submitted to: Manager of Materials Engineering NAVISTAR, Inc. PO Box 1109 Fort Wayne, IN 46801 5.3 Approval A report from Navistar will be issued approving new materials to this specification. Formal approval is not granted until this report has been published. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QU

31、ALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier RequirementsAll suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval

32、 requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 6.2 ApprovalParts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all res

33、pects to those samples, which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall no

34、tify Materials Engineering at TDTC and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 19

35、10 shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process ControlThe supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical cont

36、rol and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using Navistar plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Loading, pa

37、cking and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Std. MS-D-13. 8.0 DESIGNATION DRAWINGS Color shall be specified on the engineering drawing for each part.
