5、s, insulators, sound absorbers. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers five types and five grades of either polyvinyl chloride or non-blooming, low migration rubber floor mats. These floor mats may or may not also be used as sound barriers. 1.1 Type I: Rubber mat with a colored pattern of polyvin
6、yl chloride coated to the rubber stock. 1.2 Type II: Same as Type 1 except without the vinyl coating. 1.3 Type III: Solid polyvinyl chloride mat. 1.4 Type IV: Polyurethane floor mat. 1.5 Type V: TPO engine tunnel cover blanket. 1.6 Grade A: Low mass or sound requirements, typically used for dash or
7、engine cover insulators. 1.7 Grade B: Mass requirements for medium sound transmission loss. 1.8 Grade C: Mass requirements for high sound transmission loss. 1.9 Grade D: Mass requirements for very high sound transmission loss. 1.10 Grade E: Mass requirements for very high sound transmission loss. 1.
8、11 Grade Z: No sound transmission loss requirements. Note: Existing drawings that specify Type I or II, without reference to Grades A, B, or C shall be provided to the requirements of Grade B. Exceptions are listed in Table 1. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, property an

16、pecified. 4.2.1.1. These stock thicknesses represent mass values of approximately 4.9 kg/m (1 lbm/ft) and 6.1 kg/m (1.25 lbm/ft) respectively. 4.2.2 Vinyl Film (Heel Pad) - If required, Type I only. 0.15 mm (0.006 in) minimum thickness unless otherwise specified. 4.2.2.1 If 0.08 mm (0.003 in) vinyl

30、m 25% deflection. 5.0 QUALITY Workmanship and finish shall be such as to provide a mat with a clean surface, neatly trimmed edges, all holes free from slugs, and made in conformance with good manufacturing practices. Material shall be free from objectionable odor and shall match the color and finish
31、 of pre-production approved samples. 5.1 Qualification Materials and processes submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 5.1.1 Report: A detailed and signed report documenting testing to the requirements of this specification, prepared in accordance with TMS-9543. The
32、 report will include actual test data and not merely test summaries. 5.1.2 Failure Modes: Test samples or photographs showing failure modes for each destructive test. 5.1.3 Test Procedure: The procedures used for preparing and testing material. 5.1.4 Analysis: A detailed analysis of the test results
33、 including assumptions made, unexpected results and an explanation of any non-compliant results. 5.1.5 Material: Pre-production material sufficient for complete test and evaluation by NAVISTAR. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to Navistar are required t
34、o be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. Navistar will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited r

37、9 Page 5 of 5 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples, which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that cha
38、nges occur in material properties, processing practices, or labeling, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering at TDTC and Navistar Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new/
39、amended/updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Section 1910, shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guideli
40、nes, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the plant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing an
41、d reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with Manufacturing Standard MS-D-13. 8.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS All new drawings shall indicate the Type (I, II, III, IV, or V) and Grade (A, B, C, D, or Z). Ot
42、her pertinent information necessary to describe the color, grain, finish or other description of the finished mat shall be shown on the drawing.
