ITU-R 33-2 1 RESOLUTION ITU-R 33-2 Preparation of texts on terminology (1982-1990-1993-2000-2007) The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly, recognizing a) the adoption by the Plenipotentiary Conference of Resolution 154 (Antalya, 2006) on use of the six official languages of the Union on an equal fo
2、oting; which instructed the Council and the General Secretariat on how to achieve the equal treatment of the six languages; b) the decisions by the ITU Council centralizing the editing functions for languages in the General Secretariat (Conferences and Publications Department), calling upon the Sect
3、ors to provide the final texts in English only (this applies also to terms and definitions), considering a) that it is essential that the terminology work done within ITU should be widely disseminated, as regards both terms and definitions; b) that users generally have ITU publications at their disp
4、osal in one language only but are often required to read or write technical in one of the other official languages of ITU; c) that texts on vocabulary and glossaries are not as a rule directly available to users interested in a particular ITU-R publication, resolves 1 that the texts on vocabulary an
5、d the parts of texts dealing specifically with definitions of terms published by the Radiocommunication Sector, in particular the Radio Regulations (RR), shall include the equivalents of all the terms defined in the other official languages of ITU; 2 that the means of providing the equivalents of te
6、rms in addition to the full text of terms and definitions in one of the languages other than English is now left to the General Secretariat (Conferences and Publications Department) as called for previously by the relevant Council decisions in 2006 and confirmed by resolves 3 of Resolution 154 (Antalya, 2006); 3 that close collaboration between CCV (see Resolution ITU-R 36) and the ITU General Secretariat (Conferences and Publications Department) shall be maintained in order to arrive at an agreed text for such terms and definitions. _
