、 interconnection of information processing systems. It is related to other ITLJ-T Recommendations I International Standards in the set as defined by the Reference Model for Open Systems Interconnection (see IT-T Rec. X.200 I ISOIIEC 7498-1). The reference model subdivides the areas of standardizatio

、n for interconnection into a series of layers of specification, each of manageable size. The goal of Open Systems Interconnection is to allow, with a minimum of technical agreement outside the Interconnection standards, the interconnection of information processing systems: - from different manufact

、urers; - under different managements; - - of different technologies. of different levels of complexity; and This Recommendation I International Standard specifies the protocol for the A-UNIT-DATA service for the Association Control Service Element (ACSE). The A-UNIT-DATA service provides for informa

This service is intended to be applicable to a wide range of application process communication requirements. This Recommendation I International Standard includes an Annex 17 that describes the protocol mac

、ION SERVICE OBJECT ASSOCIATION CONTROL SERVICE ELEMENT 1 Scope This Recommendation I International Standard specifies: a) b) procedures for the transfer of infomation among application-service-objects (ASOS); and the abstract and concrete syntax for the representation of the A-UNIT-DATA ACSE APDU. T

、he A-UNIT-DATA procedure is defined in terms of a) The interactions between peer ACSE protocol machines by the use of a supporting service; and b) the interaction between an ACSE protocol machine, its service-provider and its service-user. These procedures are applicable to instances of communicatio
