FOREWORD ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Se

8、ctor (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. Some 179 member countries, 84 telecorn operating entities, 145 scientific and industrial organizations and 38 international organizations participate in ITU-T which is the body which sets world telecommunications standards (Recommendations). The approval

9、 of Recommendations by the Members of ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1 (Helsinki, 1993). In addition, the World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, approves Recommendations submitted to it and establishes the study pr

10、ogramme for the following period. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. The text of ITU-T Recommendation X.462 was approved on 5th of October 1996. The identical text is also published

11、 as ISOAEC Intemational Standard 11588-3. X.462 (1996 E) - . 111 INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ITU-T RECOMMENDATION INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - MESSAGE HANDLING SYSTEMS (MHS) MANAGEMENT: LOGGING INFORMATION SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION 1 Scope MHS Logging is the collection of informatio

17、n relating to the use of MHS resources when providing MHS services in an MIS management domain. Three aspects of MHS Logging are considered in this Recommendation I International Standard: a) MHS Events logging management; b) MHS Customer accounting management; c) MHS Settlement accounting managemen

18、t. MHS Events logging is the collection of information relating to the use of MHS entities (UA, AU, MTA and MS), within an MIS management domain, when acting upon messages, probes and reports. MHS Events logging information is the basic information that is used to provide others MHS management servi

19、ces, for example Customer accounting management and Settlement accounting management. MHS Customer accounting is the collection, for the purpose of billing, of information related to the use of MHS resources by a Customer within an MIS management domain. MHS Settlement accounting is the collection,

20、for the purpose of reconciliation of accounts, of information related to the use of MHS resources by an Interworking MD. This Specification: a) b) c) d) e) f) Specifies conformance requirements. It does not capture resource usage at lower layers. For example, it does not captue network layer cost b
