The ITU Telecommunicat
8、ion Standardization Sector (IT-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. Some 179 member countries, 84 telecom operating entities, 145 scientific and indusmai organizations and 38 international organizations participate in ITU-T which is the body which sets world telecommunications standards (Recommendati
9、ons). The approval of Recommendations by the Members of IT-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1 (Helsinki, 1993). In addition, the World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, approves Recommendations submitted to it and establi
10、shes the study programme for the following period. In some areas of information technology which fall within IT-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. The text of -T Recommendation X.734IAmendment l-Comgendum 1 was approved on 5th of October 1996.

14、ocols for the transfer of systems management messages between Operations Systems (OS). This constrains industry from adoption of other applicable communications solutions whilst still remaining compliant to OS1 systems management functions. This Technical comgendum makes provision for other communic
15、ations protocols to be used although it does not specify what these are. It further corrects an ambiguity that can cause an Operations Systems (OS) implementor to develop software that will not work correctly with another vendors OS product for a small number of message types.
