5、ATUS 3.1 Mechanical paint shaker, Red Devil No. 30 or equivalent 3.2 Pyrex graduated cylinder, 250 milliliters 3.3 Syringe or pipette capable of delivering 2.5 milliliters 3.4 Apparatus required for ASTM D 892, Test for Foaming Characteristics of Lubricating Oils 3.5 Hot plate or bath 4.0 MATERIAL 4
6、.1 Bottles with screw caps, 16 ounce (500 milliliters), French square 4.2 Distilled water 4.3 Materials required for ASTM D 892, Test for Foaming Characteristics of Lubricating Oils 5.0 PROCEDURE 5.1 Prepare a sample as follows: 5.1.1 Heat 250 milliliters of fluid to be tested to 120 + 5 F (49 + 3 C
7、) and allow to cool to 75 + 5 F (24 + 3 C). 5.1.2 Place the fluid into a 16 ounce (500 milliliters) bottle containing 2.5 milliliters distilled water and cap securely. 5.1.3 Agitate 5 minutes on the mechanical shaker 5.2 Proceed immediately per ASTM D892, section 5 (5.1.2) 5.3 Prepare a second sample as in (5.1.1) above and proceed per ASTM D892, section 5 (c) and 5 (d). 6.0 REPORT Foam per ASTM D 892 with 1 percent water added (three sequences).
