Change Notice: Reformatted and Editorial Changes 1.0 SCOPE This is a method to determine the wear characteristics of interior components of various compositions. 2.0 APPARATUS A mechanical device capab
5、le of imparting a rubbing action with reciprocating stroke of 95 mm (3.75 in.) applied at a rate of 95 to 105 strokes per minute. 3.0 MATERIAL 3.1 A 44 mm (1.75) wide strip of # 10 white undyed cotton duck cloth approximately 305 mm (12 in.) in length 3.2 Roll of clear packaging tape approximately 4
6、7 mm (1.875 in.) wide 3.3 Cutting tool to cut tape and/or trim test material if necessary i.e. knife or razor blade 3.4 A 0.68 kg (1.5 lb.) weight that can be attached to the cotton cloth for foam or rubber steering wheels or a 1.36 kg (3.0 lb.) weight for hard plastic wheels 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Inspe

OCTOBER 2001 Page 2 of 2 4.11 Monitor the test periodically to evaluate wear on the component and condition of the clear tape outlining the exposure zone of a “soft feel” wheel. 4.12 Replace the clear plastic when it no longer outlines the intended exposure zone. 4.13 Continue monitori
