Change Notice: NEW 1.0 SCOPE This document contains design and performance requirements for composite air brake fittings. 2.0 INTRODUCTION This specification covers general requirements, property and performance requirements, identification, quality, packing and shipping, and source approv

9、 NAVISTAR CEMS F-2 NAVISTAR TMS-9543 SAE J2494-3 CFR Title 29, Part 1910 5.0 MATERIALS The body of the fittings shall be made of a composite material that meets all SAE J2494-3 material test requirements and complies with CEMS B-50. 5.1 Composite Body Material Requirements The composite body materia

10、l requirements are shown in Table 1 below, and will be composed of a Glass-filled Nylon 6,10, or Glass-filled Nylon 12. AUGUST 2013 Page 4 of 7 6.0 DESIGN GUIDELINES AND DIMENSIONS The fitting consists of the components shown in Figure below: Pressure containing components of the assembly must be connected b

18、y a barbed interference fit with the composite body. Connections which rely on secondary operations such as ultrasonic welding and/or secondary compression rings are expressly prohibited. The product shall meet SAE J2494-2 for design and dimensions. Hex width shall follow the standard sizing defined

28、ion SAE J2494 S3.6 Reassembly test Table 5: Tests for Stem Pressure Transducers, Stem Brake Switches, and Plugs 8.0 QUALIFICATION Material and processes submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 8.1 Report: A detailed and signed test report documenting testing to this

29、 specification prepared as per TMS-9543. The report will include actual test data not merely test summaries. 8.2 Failure Modes: Test samples or photographs showing failure modes for each destructive test as necessary to fully describe those failure modes. Descriptions are adequate if the mode is eas

30、ily understandable (no trade names or internal names to be used) and not unexpected. Unexpected failure modes shall be described or pictured as completely as possible. 8.3 Test Procedure: The procedure used for preparing, curing and assembling materials for test. Include any chemicals or assembly ai

31、ds and how they were used. 8.4 Analysis: A detailed analysis of the test results including assumptions made, unexpected results, and an explanation of any non-compliant results. 8.5 Submission: The material and test report shall be submitted to: Manager of Materials Engineering 10400 W. 32、 Melrose Park, IL 60160 9.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 9.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Productio

33、n Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 9.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citi

34、ng this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples, approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the pr

35、oduct are required, the supplier shall notify NAVISTAR Materials Engineering and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). 37、of 7 updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 will be submitted with the request for change. 9.3 Process Control The supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines. Pro

38、duction shall be carried out under controlled conditions. Controlled conditions shall include, as applicable, a) the availability of information that describes the characteristics of the product, b) the availability of work instructions, as necessary, c) the use of suitable equipment, d) the availab

39、ility and use of monitoring and measuring equipment, e) the implementation of monitoring and measurement, and f) the implementation of product release, delivery and post-delivery activities. Characteristics shall be measured and monitored to verify that product requirements have been met. This shall

40、 be carried out at appropriate stages of the product realization process in accordance with planned arrangements. Evidence of conformity with the acceptance criteria shall be maintained. The release of product and delivery of service to the customer shall not proceed until the planned arrangements h

41、ave been satisfactorily completed, unless otherwise approved by a relevant authority and, where applicable, by Navistar. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 9.4 Cleanliness Parts shall me

42、et CEMS F-2 Level III for cleanliness. 10.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS AND PURCHASE ORDERS Designation on drawings and purchase orders will include Connector Type, Material, size, and this specification. Example: PTC ”, CEMS F-3 11.0 PACKING AND SHIPPING Packing, shipping and identification shall be in
