4、1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers a semi-rigid fiberboard, silk screen coated for dielectric bonding, suitable as a structural foundation board or supporting member for soft trim applications. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, property and performance requirements

5、 and quality. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified the latest issue of all referenced standards

A-16 NAVISTAR MPAPS B-50 CFR 49, Part 571.302 SAE J315 FMVSS #302 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Construction This board shall be constructed from kraft and other fibers suitable to meet the requirements of the intended use, laminated on both sides with 0.03 mm (0.001 in) film of polyethylene an

8、d a kraft paper liner. The outer face shall be silk screen coated with a dielectrically active plastic (PVDC or equivalent) film. 4.2 Finished Thickness Standard thicknesses shall be 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 mm (0.040, 0.060, and 0.080 in); tolerance on all thicknesses shall be 0.13 mm (0.005 in). 10、4.3 Property And Performance Requirements Unless otherwise indicated, material testing shall be in accordance with SAE J315 - Fiberboard Test Procedure. 4.3.1 Moisture Content 4.5-7.0% 4.3.2 Bursting Strength: Mullen Burst 4.3.2.1 Method Perform test dry and after 24-hour immersion in water. 4.3.2.2

11、 Required Dry: 22.2 N (5 lbf) per mil thickness minimum Wet: 17.8 N (4 lbf) per mil thickness minimum 4.3.3 Water Absorption: 15 x 15 cm (6 x 6 in) Sample 24 hours: 12% maximum 4.3.4. Dimensional Stability: Method B and Method C at 70 C (158 F) 4.3.4.1 Expansion Machine Direction: 0.7% maximum Acros

12、s Machine Direction: 0.7% maximum 4.3.4.2 Contraction Machine Direction: 0.7% maximum Across Machine Direction: 0.7% maximum 4.3.5 Flammability Resistance Material and parts supplied to this specification shall conform to and be certified by the suppliers to meet the requirements of (CFR 49, Part 51

13、7.302) Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #302 - Flammability of Interior Materials and MPAPS P-9544. 5.0 QUALITY The material shall be free from objectionable odor, have necessary flexibility to meet contour requirements, be adequately bonded to prevent separation and be uniform in thickness. 5.

14、1 Primary cosmetic vinyl surfaces shall be free from voids, bumps, dimples, cuts, wrinkles, and bubbles. Surfaces that are not normally visible shall be indicated on the print and shall meet a mutually agreed level of surface quality and be so stated in the part control plan. The exposed foam surfac

15、e shall be free of voids or imperfections detrimental to strength, fit, function, or service life. JUNE 2017 Page 3 of 4 6.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production shipments. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certifying that all requirements of the specifi

17、cation have been met. Suppliers shall submit samples for approval of finish, luster, color and appearance to the Navistar Industrial Design Group. Upon approval, styling master samples denoting the minimum level of acceptable appearance quality shall be developed and retained by the supplier and the

18、 quality department of each using NAVISTAR facility. 6.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supplied to the requirements of this specification will be established by mutual agreement between NAVISTAR and the supplier. Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteri

19、stics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control.* * Other characteristics for inclusion in the control plan may be specified on the engineering drawing and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engineering Design Standard A-16 7.0 SOURCE

20、APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentat

21、ion and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equi

22、valent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the s

23、upplier shall notify NAVISTAR Materials Engineering and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR

24、Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. JUNE 2017 Page 4 of 4 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either, perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in

26、 a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification

27、shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Supplier Packing and Shipping Standard D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the appearance of the part. 9.0 DESIGNATION ON DRAWINGS Example of note to use on drawings: Unless otherwise specified, the standard thicknes

28、s shall be 2.0 mm (0.080 in).
