4、o use. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification describes the requirements for four decorative laminated vinyls, foil, or urethane films. These films may have a pressure sensitive adhesive applied to the reverse side. They are intended for use on interior trim surfaces where a wood grain effect is desired
5、. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the material requirements, physical properties, performance requirements, quality, source approval and quality control, packaging, and approved sources for the six types. 2.1 Type I is a vinyl film. 2.2 Type II DELETED Type II is replaced by Type 1 of MPAPS G-45
6、17. 2.3 Type III is a formed film intended for curved or molded applications. 2.4 Type IV DELETED Type IV is replaced by Type 2 of MPAPS G-4517. 2.5 Type V is a foil film intended for flat applications. 2.6 Type VI is a urethane film intended for flat applications 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless othe

10、ld be of uniform construction and must conform to color, gloss, texture and/or printed pattern of the master samples of the pre-production material originally approved and on file in the Integrated Product Development (IPD) Industrial Design Department. 4.1.1 Gloss The film will exhibit a 60 gloss v
11、alue of 90 minimum, unless otherwise indicated on the engineering print or with written approval of Integrated Product Development (IPD) Industrial Design Department, when measured in accordance with MPAPS GT-Paint, section 6B. In all cases, the maximum loss of gloss shall be 20 points, after exposu
12、re to the ultraviolet and condensing humidity exposures listed in the Table on page 3. 4.1.2 Orange Peel The film will exhibit a min orange peel rating of 3.0 as measured in accordance with MPAPS GT-Paint, section 29. 4.2 Adhesive When specified as a pressure-sensitive film for plant application, an
13、 adhesive shall be uniformly applied to the backside of the film and the adhesive will meet all requirements of this specification. It shall have a low initial tack and shall not corrode or etch the surface to which the film is applied. It shall have sufficient bond strength to permit normal handlin
14、g immediately after application. 4.3 Release Backing The adhesive shall be protected with an easy release, moisture-resistant liner. The backing liner shall have sufficient strength to protect the adhesive film during shipment and handling, and it shall not break, tear, chip, or peel. The liner shal

25、a 500 g load for 500 cycles. 4.5.3.2 Required: There shall be no appreciable effect on pattern or color in the abraded area and the weight change of the sample shall not exceed 0.200 grams. 4.5.4 Flammability Resistance Must meet the requirements of MPAPS P-9544 and FMVSS 302. 5.0 QUALITY 6.0 QUALIF
26、ICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production shipments. Samples shall be accompanied by test data certifying that all requirements of the specification have been met. Suppliers shall submit samples for approval of finish, luster, color and appearance to the Navis
27、tar Industrial Design Group. Upon approval, styling master samples denoting the minimum level of acceptable appearance quality shall be developed and retained by the supplier and the quality department of each using NAVISTAR facility. 6.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supp
28、lied to the requirements of this specification will be established by mutual agreement between NAVISTAR and the supplier. Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteristics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control.* *
29、Other characteristics for inclusion in the control plan may be specified on the engineering drawing and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engineering Design Standard A-16 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO
30、9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furni
31、sh copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 7.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing
32、practices are permitted without approval. Test d
34、ata indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either, perform an
35、d report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality con
36、trol manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 8.0 SHIPPING AND HANDLING Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Supplier Packing and Shipping Standard D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in
