Abstract: This commercial item description (CID) applies to latch type swivel hoist hooks that support a load in a direct-pull configuration, and such load is carried in the base (bowl-saddle) of the hook. Th
3、e hook is intended for use in material handling operations. Salient characteristics: Requirements. Hoist hooks shall be as specified herein and shall be in accordance with the basic requirements shown in table I for the rated capacity and throat openings. Hooks of a rated capacity greater than speci

There shall be no defects when magnetic particle inspected over the entire area of the hook in accordance with ASTM A 275, defect is defined as a linear indication revealed by magnetic particle inspection that is
9、 greater than 0.725-inch long and whose length is equal to, or greater than, three times its width. Rated capacity. The hooks, when used in various material handling operations in lifting and moving cargo, shall not be utilized with loads greater than the rated capacity specified in table I. Tested
10、capacity. The hooks shall lift and hold a load equal to not less than two times the rated capacity of the hook. examinations shall be in accordance with ANSI 830.10. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis wit
14、h those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this CID are met. The If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions
15、 exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use
