SCOPE. This comm
2、ercial item description (CID) covers reinforced abrasive wheels consisting of aluminum oxide (A1203) abrasive particles, non-woven nylon fibers, and a therrnosettting resin binder. The wheels are for use in removing con taminants, oxides, and other corrosion products from various surfaces. This CID
3、only includes the abrasive wheels fiom MIL-W-8 13 19 that have been direct purchased by the Government. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The abrasive wheels shall be of the following classes and grades: 2.1 Classes. Class 1 - Convolutely wound Class2 - Laminated 2.2 Grades. Grade B - Fine grit size (available,for
4、 all classes) GradeC - Mediumgritsize 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Materiais. The abrasive wheels shall consist of sized abrasive particles, non-woven nylon fibers and a good quality thermosetting resin binder. 9、 Abrasive wheel dimensions, tolerances, and the maximum safe revolutions per minute (RPM) in use speed shall be in accordance with ANSI B7.1 and Table III. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Redatow Requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent pract
10、icable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.2 Metric Products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified and all oth
11、er requirements of this document are met. The following market acceptability criteria are necessary to document the quality of the product to be provided under t
15、his CID. 5.2,l The company producing the abrasive wheels must have been producing a product meeting the requirements of this CID for at least one year. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Preservation and Packing. Preservation and packing shall be as specified in the contract or order. 6.2 Marking. The wheels shall be
