SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers Actuator, Rotary 1000-41 Assembly, loaded with cartridge 5000-1, for use in conjunction with other propellant actuated devices in aircrew emergency escape systems.

5、ntd) (Copies of specifications, standards and drawings , required by Suppliers in connection with specific procurement functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer.) 3.1 General.-Materials, parts and assemblies shall comply with the requirements

6、specified on the applicable drawings and referenced specifications. 3.2 Breakaway torque.-All threaded joints of the assembled Actuator shall withstand a breakaway torque application of 200 inch pounds without loosening or deformation. 3.3 Residualmagnetism.-The Actuator shall not deflect the indica

7、tor of the approved compass more than 3 degrees in either direction when passed in front of the compass at a distance of 6 inches. 3.4 Initial lock security.-The lock pin shall secure the piston component of the ball screw assembly so that the strap drum component is not free to rotate. 3.5 Function

8、al. 3.5.1 The actuator shall not fail to fire. 3.5.2 The actuator shall hction without mechanical failure (See 6.2). 3.5.3 Initiation.-The actuator shaU be fired by a source delivering an output equal to that of an M3A1 Initiator at the end of 15 feet of aircraft hose, Size 4, Ms28741, at TO0 f TF.

9、L 3.5.4 Ballistics .-The Actuator loaded with an accepted cartridge and temperature conditioned, when fired, shall separate and eject the load speci- fied in Table I from the approved simulated aircraft seat within an operating time of .150 seconds minimum and .5O seconds maxhum and function within

10、the performance limits specified in Table I. 11、790b 032679h 3 m - - 3.6 Workmanship.-The requirements for workmanship are as specified on the applicable drawings, referenced specifications and the following: 3.6.1 Metal defects,-All components shall be free from cracks, splits, cold shuts, inclusions, porosity or any similar defects. 3.6.2 Burr.

12、-T!he part shall not have a bur which might interfere with - the assembly or function of the item or which might in injurious to personnel handling the item. 3.6.3 Foreign matter.-The pwt or assembly shall not contain chips, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion or other foreign matter. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE

13、 PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibi1it.y for insp,ection. -Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of ail inspection requirements as specified herein. fied in the contract or order, the supplier may use his 0% or any other facil- ities sui

16、. 4.2.1 Lot. - 4.2.1.1 Submissi.on of product.-The product shall be submitted in accord- ance with KiL-STD-lOS. 4.2.1.2 Size of lot.-A lot shall consist of an identifiable group of assembled units containing metal parts assemblies produced by a homogeneous process and loaded With a single lot of acc

Examination for major and minor defects shall be performed on a defect basis in accord

18、ance with the classification of defects, using the sampling plan and associated criteria in Table II, The total number of allowable defects per class for either the major or minor classification shall not exceed the acceptance number of Table II. All nonconforming material shall be rejected. Four po

19、wer magnification may be used in performing visual examination for inspec- tion of such defects as burr and foreign matter. -. 34、hods and procedures, 4.3.1 Breakaway torque.-A torque wrench, set at the torque requirements specified in 3.2 shall be used in conjunction with an adapter to determine the adequacy of the joints. The actuator shall be secured in a holding device and the breakaway torque applied to the end closure an
