SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers Actuator, Explosive, Rotary 1000-48, Remanufactured Metal Parts Assembly. and used in conjunction with other propellant actuated devic

2、es in aircrew emergency escape systems. 2. Rl3QUIREMENTS 3.1 General.- Materials, parts and assemblies shall comply with the requirements specified on the applicable drawings and referenced specifications. 3.2 Hydrostatic pressure.- The body, Part Nu

7、mber 1065 (Talley) shall withstand a hydrostatic pressure of 7500 pounds per square inch (psi) for 15 seconds, minimum, without deformation or mechanical failure. MIL -A - 60838 ( MU ) 3.4 Protective finish.- Protective finish shall be in accordance with the applicable specifications and drawings and shall apply to all surfaces of the component, regardless of the configuration. Remanufactured exterior components shall hav

11、e the existing protective finish stripped and the specified protective finish reapplied. (See 6.2 and 6.3) 3.5 Residual magnetism.- The metal parts assembly shall not deflect the indicator of the approved compass more than 3 degrees in either direction when passed in front of the compass at a distan

12、ce of 6 inches. (See 6.4) 3.6 Workmanship. - The requirements for workmanship are as specified on the applicable drawings, referenced specifications and the following : 3.6.1 Metal defects.- The part shall be free from cracks, splits, or other met al defect s. 3.6.2 Burr. - The part shall not have a

13、 burr which might interefere with the assembly orfunction of the item or which might be injurious to personnel handling the item. 3.6.3 Foreign matter.- The part or assembly shall not contain chips, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion or other foreign matter, 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibi

14、lity for inspection.- Unless otherwise specified in the . contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein, Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable

15、 to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. L 4.1.1 Quality assurance terms and definitions.- Reference shall be

16、to MIL-STD-109 to define the Quality Assurance terms used. 4.1.2 Inspection. - Inspection shall be in accordance with MIL-A-2550. 4.2 Inspection provision;. 4.2.1 Lot. 4.2.1.1 Submission of product. - The product shall be submitted in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 3 Licensed by Information Handling S

17、ervicesmL-A-60838( MU) 4.2.1.2 Size of lot.- For the purpose of identification and shipment, the shipping lots of metal parts assemblies shall consist of 1200 Actuators, maximum, exclusive of test samples,.provied the homogeneity of remanufacturing process has been retained throughout the inspection

18、 lot. shipped upon approval of the contracting officer, A smaller lot may be 4.2.2 Examination.- The Ordnance Standard Finish Blocks prescribed in MIL-STD-639 shall be used as a basis of comparison for surface roughness determination. examination for such defects as burr and foreign matter. Four pow

19、er (4X) magnification may be used in performing visual _- 4.2.2.1 Reclaimed parts.- Examination of $eusable parts, which require no reprocessing shall be limited to inspection of defects that require visual type inspection. such defects. All nonconforming parts shall be rejected. One hundred percent

20、 examination shall be performed for all 4.2.2.2 Reprocessed parts.- One hundred percent examination shall be performed for all critical defects. Examination for major and minor defects shall be performed on a defect basis in accordance with the classification of defects contained herein, using the s

21、ampling plan and associated criteria in Tables II and III. in Table II shall be used. For total defects within a major or minor applicable Militari Standard listed on the drawing. 4.2.3.3 Residual magnetism.- Each actuator shall be tested for excessive residual magnetism. requirement of 3.5 shall be

22、 cause for rejection of the actuator. 4.2.4 Inspection equipment.- The examination and tests shall be made using equipment and gages approved by the Government;. 23、ective finish each subassembly shall be mounted in a device with all openings properly sealed and subjected to the hydrostatic pressure to determine compliance with the requirements of 3.2. 4.3.2 Protective finish, replated components. - Test procedures for protective finish shall be in accordance w

24、ith the applicable Mllitary Standards referenced on the drawing. 12 Licensed by Information Handling ServicesMIL-A-60838 (MU) 4.3.3 Residual magnetism.- The assembly shall be tested for excessive residual magnetism in an area free of local magnetic effects by placing the assembly six (6) inches from

25、 and at the same height as the compass, in a north-south horizontal position (Breech end at south) with the compass set in an east-west heading as shown in Figure 1, The assembly shall be moved slowly past the compass for its entire length, rotated 90 degrees in the horizontal* position about its lo

26、ngitudinal axis and moved slowly back past the compass. This procedure shall be repeated for each 90 degree rotation of the assembly. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packing and marking.- Level A.- Packing and marking shall be in ACCORDANCE WITH DRAWINGS 0218443 and C9218444. 5.2 Data cards.- Data c

27、ard information shall be as specified in MIL-STD-1167. 6. NOTES 6.1 A “mechanical failure“ is defined as any deformation or breakage of a part, the occurrence of which is other than a design function. 6.2 Remanufactured exterior components are listed in Table IV.
