17、tained. 3. REQUIREHENTS 3.1 Guide Sam le. Samples, when furnished, are solely for guidance and informat -T-E on to t e contractor (see 6.3). Variations from this specification may appear in the sample in which case this specification shall govern. unit(s) for first article inspection and approval (s

18、ee 4.3 and 6.2). 3.2 First article. When specified, the contractor shall furnish sample 3.3 Ha terial. 3.3.1 Yarn, The yarn shall be multifilament semidull polyester yarn (polyethy= glycol terephthalate). The yarn number for the warp shall be 90 denier (see 4.4.1) and the color shall be black. The y

19、arn for the filling shall be of a denier suitable for the purpose intended and as per guide sample (see 3.1), The colors shall be as specified in 3.3.1.2. 3.3.1.1 Eeat settin . All yarns, both warp and filling, shall be heat-set. The denier o producer and prior to adding twist, heat setting and fini

20、shing. + t e yarn shall be determined as it is received from the yarn 3.3.1.2 Color. The yarn shall be dyed to match the colors specified in Table I in accordance with the Department of Defense Standard Shades for Threads. The yarns may be solution dyed or dyed with a dispersed dye. When ribbons con

21、tain two or more colors of yarn, each color may be all solution dyed or all yarn dyed, but not mixed in the same color. The finished badge shall show colorfastness to light (after 40 SFH), laundering (after 3 cycles), crocking and perspiration equal to or better than

24、 the standard sample when tested as specified in 4.5. As a limit of acceptability or when no standard sample is available, the finished badge shall show a minimum of “goodtt fastness to light (after 40 SFH) laundering (after 3 cycles), crocking and perspiration and shall show a dry crocking rating n

25、ot lower than 5 when tested as specified in 4.5. 3.3.2.1 Matchin . The finished badge shall match the standard sample when having a correlated color temperature of 7500K (+ 500K) with illumination of 100 (+ 20) foot candles and shall be a good match-to the standard sample under incadscen t lampligh

26、t at 2300K (+ - 200K). 3.4 Construction. The badge shall be woven as a 1 by 3 right hand twill per repeat. Woven selvages shall be permitted in the lengthwise dimension and sha

A variation in weave, to serve as a cutting mark in the filling direction and 118 inch in the warp direction, centered between the end of one pattern and the beginning of the next pattern. shall be perm + tte provided it is limited to

To the extent of any incons + stencies between the written specification and the figure, the 0 written specification shall govern. 3.6 Finish. The reverse side of the badge shall be

31、coated with a clear fabric which shall give the badge a firm and stiff finish, shall not affect the colors of the yarn and not react adversely to storage, laundering, or ironing. The finish shall conform to the guide sample and shall be tested for stiffnefs as specified4in 4.5. The minimum stiffness

The badges shall be examined for defects in dimensions in accordance with Table IV. The lot size shall be expressed in units of one badge. The sample unit shall be one badge

The inspection levels and acceptable quality levels, expressed in defects per hundred units for visual and dimensional examination, shall be as follows: Inspection level AQL For defects applicable to 4.4.2.2 s-3 6.5 4.4.3 Ex

40、amination of packaging requirements. An examination shall be made to determine that packaging, packing, and marking comply with Section 5 requirerents of this specification. Defects shall be scored in accordance with the list below. The sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared for

41、delivery. Defects of closure listed below shall be examined on shipping containers fully prepared for delivery. The lot size shall be on the nuarber of shipping containers in the end item inspection lot. The inspection level shall be S-2 and the AOL shall be 2.5 defects per hundred units, in accorda

The methods of testing specified

45、in FED-STD-191 whenever applicable and as listed in Table V shall be followed. When the data in the I1number of determinations per sample unit” and “results reported asn columns are not specified in Table V, they shall be as required by the referenced test method. The lot size shall be expressed in

46、units of one badge. The sample unit shall be 8 badges for color, physicals, colorfastness and weave tests.
