17、tained. 3. REQUIREHENTS 3.1 Guide Sam le. Samples, when furnished, are solely for guidance and informat -T-E on to t e contractor (see 6.3). When specified, the contractor shall furnish sample 3.3 Ha terial. 3.3.1 Yarn, The yarn shall be multifilament semidull polyester yarn (polyethy= glycol terephthalate). The yarn number for the warp shall be 90 denier (see 4.4.1) and the color shall be black. The y
19、arn for the filling shall be of a denier suitable for the purpose intended and as per guide sample (see 3.1), The colors shall be as specified in 3.3.1.2. 3.3.1.1 Eeat settin . All yarns, both warp and filling, shall be heat-set. The denier o producer and prior to adding twist, heat setting and fini

The yarn shall be dyed to match the colors specified in Table I in accordance with the Department of Defense Standard Shades for Threads. The yarns may be solution dyed or dyed with a dispersed dye. The finished badge shall show colorfastness to light (after 40 SFH), laundering (after 3 cycles), crocking and perspiration equal to or better than
24、 the standard sample when tested as specified in 4.5. As a limit of acceptability or when no standard sample is available, the finished badge shall show a minimum of “goodtt fastness to light (after 40 SFH) laundering (after 3 cycles), crocking and perspiration and shall show a dry crocking rating n
25、ot lower than 5 when tested as specified in 4.5. 3.3.2.1 Matchin . The finished badge shall match the standard sample when having a correlated color temperature of 7500K (+ 500K) with illumination of 100 (+ 20) foot candles and shall be a good match-to the standard sample under incadscen t lampligh
26、t at 2300K (+ - 200K). 3.4 Construction. 31、coated with a clear fabric which shall give the badge a firm and stiff finish, shall not affect the colors of the yarn and not react adversely to storage, laundering, or ironing. The finish shall conform to the guide sample and shall be tested for stiffnefs as specified4in 4.5. The minimum stiffness
