SCOPE 1.1 Scope - This specification covers the de

2、sign requirements for one ty-pe of marker buoy for use as an aid to navigation. 2. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Prep

6、roduction - The marker buoy furnished under this specification shall be a product, samples of which have been tested and passed the prepro- duction tests specified herein. *3.2 Parts and materials - Parts and materials shall be as specified in all Any deviation by drawings and subsidiary documents l

Approval 3.2.1 Magnetic permeability - The magnetic permeability of all corrosion- resistant steel components

10、shall be less than 1.6 when checked with a low-mu magnetic permeability indicator conforming to MIL-1-17214. Steel Institute (AISI) type 304 stainless steel may be replaced by any AISI 300 series stainless steel if its magnetic permeability complies with this require- ment. American Iron and *3.3 De

14、uirements - The assembled buoy shall meet the following operational requirements. For the requirements of 3.4.1 through 3.4.6, the direction of the force is along the longitudinal axis of the buoy with the buoy in a horizontal position. 17、te the lever, item 167106, from its assembled stowed position to the position determined by the free length of the spring, item 167ASi46, shall not exceed 1.5 pounds. 3.4.5 Ratchet wind-up force - Maximum force on the mooring line required to actuate the compensator mechanism (ratchet wind-up) one n

QUALITY ASSURANCE PFiOVSIONS Jc4.1 Responsibility for inspection - Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order

22、, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all tests/inspections as specified herein. supplier may utilize his own facility or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to witness or separately per- form any of the tests/inspections set forth

23、 in this specification where such tests/inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services con- form to prescribed requirements. Except as otherwise specified, the *4.2 Classification of inspection - The examination and testing of the marker buoy shall be classified as follows: (a

24、) Preproduction inspection (see 4.6). (b) (c) (a) Special tests (see 4.10). Initial production inspection (see 4.8). Quality conformance inspection (see 4.9). *4.3 Test conditions - The ambient temperature and relative humidity that prevails during the measurement of the forces, weights and buoyancy

28、y the contractor and found to comply, to the best of his know- ledge and belief, with all applicable requirements. *4.6 Preproduction inspection - Preproduction inspection is that inspection accomplished on units selected as specified in 4.6.2 for the purpose of deter- mining that production methods

29、 and procedures utilized are capable of producing marker buoys which comply with the requirements specified herein. *4.6.i Preproduction inspec-Lion data - The testing activity shall submit all data collected in conducting these inspections to the procuring agency for review and approval *4.6.2 Prep
