16、r this specification shall be products which are authorized by the qiialifying activity for listing on the applicable qualified products list at the time of award of contract (see 4.4 and 6.3). 3.2 Materials. 3.2.1 Threaded pa rts. All internal or external parts which are threaded shall be positivel
17、y locked. Accidental loosening of threatled elements shall be prevented by self-locking nuts, safety wiring, or similar inethotls appropriate for application in the BRCU. 3.2.2 Fiingus. Materials used shall be fiingis inert. 3.2.3 Toxic. Materials which produce toxic effects under any conditions, in
18、cluding tire, shall not be inwrporated in the design of the BRCU. 3.2.4 Flammahle. Materials which will support combustion shall not be used. Detinitions and restrictions on the Lise of tlaininable materials shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-454, Requirement 3. 3.2.5 Metals. Metals shall he of a c
19、orrosion-resisting type or suitably processed to resist corrosion. 3.2.6 Dissimilar metals. The lise of dissimilar metals in contact with each other (particularly brass, copper, or steel in contact with aliiininiiiii or other iiietals) shall be avoided. Where contact between dissiinilar inetals is i
20、inavoiclable, the contacting inetals shall be suitably protected against electrolytic corro- sion. When protection is iisetl, it shall be a type that offers a low impedance path to high frequency current. Dissimilar metals are detined in MIL-STD-889. 3.3 Design and ccinstniction. 3.3.1 Cooling. The
21、BRCU shall be convection cooled. 3.3.2 Diinensions. The cliiiiensions shall be in accorclance with figure I. Where only inaxiiniiin or ininiiniiin diinensions are shown, the part need not have the shape shown, but the part, incliitling all protrusions, shall be contained within the oiitline shown. 3
22、.3.3 Weight. The weight shall be not greater than 0.25 kilograin. 3.3.4 Moiinting. The BRCU shall be capable of being mounted in any position. Moiinting provisions shall be as shown on tigiire 1. 3.3.5 Color. The BRCU shall be tinislied in 17875 white in accordance with FED-STD-595. The tinish shall

The BRCU shall be provided with a D38999/42WB5PN connector in accordance with DOD-C-38999/
24、42 as shown on tgiire 1. The connector shall be oriented as shown on tigiire I with the main key on the saine sicle of the unit as the label. 34、 inspection (see 4.5). c. Qiialitication verification inspection (see 4.6). 4.3 Jnspection conditions. Unless otherwise specitied, all inspections shall be performed in accordance with the test conditions specitied in 4.7. The inspection system requirements shall be in accorclance with MIL-1-45208.
35、4.4 Qualification in spection. In accorclance with SD-6, the Government shall perforni qiialitication inspection on samples of BRCUs fiirnishetl by the slipplier. Qualification tests shall consist of the examinations, inspections, and tests specified in table II ancl shall be performed in the order
36、shown. 4.4.1 Oiial itication sainples. The submission for qiialitication shall consist of three test samples which shall be procliiced to the maximum extent practicable with equipment and procecliires normally used in production and shall be identitied as specified (see 3.7 and 3.8). Tests shall be
37、conducted as specified in tahle II under any one of the sample number columns selected at the discretion of the qualifying activity. Any additional information required by the letter of mthorization specified hy SD-6 shall be slipplied (see 6.3). 4.4.2 Mate rials certitication. The manufacturer shal
38、l prepare a report to certify that the inaterials and tinishes used in fabricating BRCUs are in accordance with the requirements of 3.2 ancl the applicable referenced specifications.
