9、pecific procurement functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer. ) 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Samples. 3.1.1 First article approval sample. Prior to the start of regular produc- tion except where a new contract follows within 90 days production of acce
10、p- table material of identical design, the contractor shall manufacture and submit a sample of 300 cable assemblies and parts as shown in figure 1, using as far as possible the methods and processes proposed for quantity production. However, any deviation from these methods and processes shall be do
11、cumented and submitted with the first article approval sample. The sample shall conform to the require- ments of this specification. Additional samples that may be required because of failure of .the sample to meet the requirements of this specification shall be supplied by the contractor at his exp
12、ense. Until the first article approval sample is approved, further production will be at the risk of the contractor and the Government will not proceed with inspection for acceptance of the pro- duction lots until this approval has been obtained. 3.1.2 Supplemental samples. Prior approval of the pro
13、curing activity shall be required whenever there is a change in design, material, or process which affects safety, operability, or interchangeability as defined by the Classifi- cation of Defects. rest with the Government. Ten cable assemblies selected at random from each accepted lot or selected as specified by the Technical Agency shall be shipped within two working days to the Technical
15、 Agency designated by the procuring activity. 3.2 Materials, design and construction. The device shall be in accordance with this specification and the documents referenced in section 2. 3.3 Performance requirements. 3.3.1 Insulation resistance. The insulation resistance for any one con- ductor of t
16、he cable assembly shall be not less than 200 megohms when 500 volts direct current (dc) is applied between any conductor and all other conductors shorted together. 3.3.2 Continuity. The resistance of any one conductor of the cable assembly shall be not more than one ohm. 3.3.3 Pull. There shall be n
17、o mechanical or electrical failure of the cable assembly when a force of 30 pounds is applied to the plug tip while the plug is held by the ground contact. 3.3.4 Extreme temperature. The cable assembly when subjected to each of the extreme temperatures of -65OF(-54OC) and 16OoF(7l0C) for not less th
18、an four hours shall meet the-requiremenk of 3.3.2. and the insulation resistance shall be not less than 20 megohms. 3.3.5 Temperature cycling. The cable assembly after exposure to five temperature cycles between the limits of 16O0F(7I0C) and -65OF(-54OC) shall meet the requirements of 3.3.2 and the
19、insulaton resistance shall be not less than 20 megohms. 3.3.6 Salt spray. The cable assembly after exposure to salt spray for 50 hours shall meet the requirement of 3.3.2 and the insulation resistance -shall be not ,less than 20 megohms. 3.3.7 Humidity. The cable assembly after exposure to ten humid
20、ity cycles between the limits of 100F(380C) and 160F(710C) at a relative humidity greater than 95 percent shall meet the requirement of 3.3.2 and the insulation resistance shall be not less than 20 megohms. 3.3.8 Salt immersion. The cable assembly after the receptacle has been immersed in a salt sol
21、ution for a period of 24 hours shall meet the require- ment of 3.3.2 and the insulation resistance shall be not less than 20 megohms. 3.3.9 Accelerated aging. The cable assembly after exposure to 1,000 fifteen-minute cycles in a vacuum-steam-pressure chamber which simulates tropical conditions shall

24、red for approval. In all cases, the contractor shall comply with any required changes to the satisfaction of the Government in future production. I 4.3.1.1 Reinstitution of tests. Acceptance of the first article approval sample does not relieve the contractor from meeting all requirements of this sp

26、ify the effectiveness of the corrective action. When evidence shows I 4.4 Acceptance inspection. Inspection shall be as specified in MIL-A-2550 The inspection called for in Classification of Defects and in this document. (4.4.5) and Acceptance Tests (4.4.6) shall be conducted by the contractor under
27、 the observation of the Government inspector unless otherwise directed by the procuring activity. 4.4.1 Lot formation. A lot shall consist of devices produced by one manu- facturer in accordance with stabilized methods and techniques , the same drawing and drawing revision, the same specification an
28、d specification revi- sion (except for those introduced on a without obsolescence basis) under conditions of continuous production free from interruptions other than those due to the end of a shift or day. 4.4.2 Sampling. Sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1235, Plan CSP-A, and this docume
29、nt. 4.4.3 Lot acceptance. Lots shall be accepted on the basis of MIL-STD-1235, Plan CSP-A, this document and more specifically, the Classification of Defects (4.4.5), Acceptance Tests (4.4.6) , and Material and Component Certification (4.4.7). i 4.4.4 Data recording. A written record shall be made o
30、f all inspections and tests specified in section 4. approved by the Government Agency. forwarded to the designated Government Agency within two days after the Government acceptance of the item or lot.
