Cylinders shall be made of corrosion-resistant steel in accordance with any of the analyses shown in table I. pierced billets, cupped plates, or seamless tubing with either welded pressure heads or spun bottoms. When welded cylinders

Unless otherwise specified herein, all equip- ment, material, and articles incorporated in the products covered by this specifi- cation shall be new and may be fabricated using materials produced from recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable wit

The term “recovered materials“ means materials which have been collected or recovered from solid waste and reprocessed to become a source of raw materials, as opposed to virgin raw materials. that the use of used or rebuilt products is allowed under this specifica

Cylinders shall be painted in accordance with MIL-STD-101 except that the letters NON-MAGNETIC shall be stencilled longitu- dinally above the letters NONSHAT, using the same paint as used for the latter. 3.11.3 StencillinR. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 ResDonsibilitv for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, th
37、e contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein, Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirem
38、ents specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to ensure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4,l.l ResDonsibility for co
39、mpliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the
40、 responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of the manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not
41、authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. All cylinders of the same size presented at one time shall be considered a lot for purposes of quality conformance inspec
43、tion. 4.3.2 SamDline for examination, A random sample of cylinders shall be selected in accordance with table IV from each inspection lot of material for examination of visual, dimensional, and weight characteristics (see 6.6).
