When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3
18、and 6.3). 3.2 Materials. The materials shall be as specified hereinafter. 3.3 Construction. The canister kit shall be for use as a training aid for the Navy type A-4 OBA in accordance with Drawing 803-5184270. the canister, as well as all parts, shall be free of any trace of oil, grease, or flammabl
19、e substance. The interior of The kit shall contain the following parts: (a) 1 canister assembly. (Includes the canister body, chemical filler, copper seal, gasket, tear-off cap, storage plug, firing mechanism assembly and the protective housing assembly.) (b) 40 tear-off caps. (c) 1 storage plug. (d
20、) 40 candle assemblies. (e) 1 firing mechanism assembly. (f) 5 protective housing assemblies. (g) Markings. 3.3.1 Canister. The canister body shall be the same shape, size, and material as shown on Drawing 803-5184258 with modifications as shown on figures 1 and 2 for view window, boss, and candle r
21、ecess. The date of manufacture shall be stamped on each canister. and 803-5184270, Drawing 803-5184270 shall take precedence. Where differences exist between Drawings 803-5184258 3.3.1.1 Finish. The canister body shall be painted with lacquer in accordance with TT-L-32, except the bottom, which shal

The view window shall be installed in the concave side of the canister, a
23、s shown on figure 1 to allow for observation of the condition of the chemical filler. 3.3.1.3 m. A raised boss shall be installed in the center of the bottom of the canister to prevent the A-4 OBA bail screw from contacting and damaging the firing mechanism assembly. 3.3.1.4 Candle recess. The canis
24、ter shall contain a candle recess in the bottom so constructed to allow for ready insertion and removal of the candle assemblies, 3.3.1.5 Seal. A seal, copper foil, dead soft, 0.002 9 0.005 inch thick in accordance with ASTM B 152 shall be installed inthe neck of the canister as shown on Drawing 803
25、-5184258. 3.3.1.6 Gasket. The gasket in the neck of the canister shall be made of a material that shall withstand the maximum temperature that will be reached during normal use without emitting an offensive odor or showing any other ill effects, such as melting. 3.3.1.7 Weight. shall not exceed 5 po
26、unds. The overall weight of the canister assembly (see 3.3(a) 3.3.2 Cheaical filler. The chemical filler used in the training canister shall be a carbon dioxide (C02) absorbent of demonstrated efficiency for operation under conditions of high humidity, CO2 concentration, and flow rate. When the cani
27、ster is properly sealed, the chemical filler shall have a shelf life of at least 2 years. The quantity used shall approximate the weight and flow pattern of a standard OBA canister, and shall have a capacity to absorb at least 370 grams of CO2 under conditions of use. accordance with MIL-B-36212. gr
