23、the lot. Failure of 4.3.4.2 Airtightness.- Each cartridge assembly shall be subjected to the specified pressure differential, the drawing shall be cause for rejection of the cartridge assembly. Failure to comply with the requirements of 4.3.4.3 Vibration.- Twelve of the assembled cartridges of the i

24、nitial production lot, or i2 assembled cartridges from a subsequent lot (when a change has been made in the lot of primers, propellant, or delay elements) shall be subjected to vibration as directed in 3.5. After vibration the 12 cartridges shall be x-rayed in accordance with Note L/ of 4.3.2.l.l. d

25、isintegration of the primer, delay charge OF propellant, or derangement of any component shall be cause for rejection of the lot, Evidence of any 4.3.4.4 Fm.- Tnis test will be performed by the Government. The 30 test cartridges, including the 12 vibrated cartridges of the initial produc- tion sampl

26、e (or a subsequent production lot sample of 30 cartridges when a change has been made in the lot of primers, propellant or delay elements, or the method of charging the delay elements) and 14 cartridges from each subse- quent production lot shall be grouped and temperature conditioned as prescribed

27、in table W and 4.4.3, and then tested in accordance with 4.4,4. Six of the 12 cartridges vibrated in accordance with 4,3,4.3 shall be included in each group tested over the temperature range prescribed in table W under initial production lot. 29、iteria of the variables sampling plan, shall be cause for rejec- tion of the lot. 4.3.5 Inspection equipment.- The examination and tests shall be made using equipment listed on 6Ek.8596114. 4.4 Test methods and procedures. 4.4,1 Airtightness.- The method for determining airtightness shall be by use

31、n&,- The cartridge shall be loaded into an acceptable M2 or M3 Initiator and conditioned as prescribed in table IV, The temperature within the propellant shall be considered as the conditioning temperature and will be determined by means of a thermocouple attached to the center of the propellant cha

32、rge of a specimen cartridge assembled in a test device similar to the initiators undergoing tests. shall be a minimum of 1 hour longer than the time necessary to bring the element contained in the specimen cartridge to the required temperature. The conditioning time 4.4.4 Test procedures.- Upon comp

33、letion of the required temperature condi- tioning the cartridges will be ballistically tested in accordance with “Frankford Arsenal Manual o% Functional Tests for Cartridge Actuated Devices for Aircraft Ejection Systems“ (or such method as is approved by the contracting officer) within five minutes

34、after removal from the conditioning chamber. The cartridges will be re-conditioned if this time is exceeded. at minus 65 degrees to minus 30 degrees F, all condensation wf% be removed from the interior surface sf the initiators before the initiators are returned t the conditioning chamber, When re-c
